IS IT GETTING TOO HOT?
by Sharon Rondeau
(Mar. 16, 2014) — The Daily Caller reported on Friday that White House Press Secretary Jay Carney will leave his post soon.
Carney had worked as a journalist at TIME and CNN before becoming Press Secretary for putative Vice President Joe Biden, then Obama’s White House Press Secretary in 2011.
Carney made remarks on April 27, 2011 following the release of Obama’s purported long-form birth certificate on the White House website, which temporarily disappeared for this writer on Sunday morning. At the time, Carney stated, “In 2008, in response to media inquiries, the President’s campaign requested his birth certificate from the state of Hawaii. We received that document; we posted it on the website. That document was then inspected by independent fact checkers, who came to the campaign headquarters and inspected the document — independent fact checkers did, and declared that it was proof positive that the President was born in Hawaii.”
The “independent fact checkers” to which Carney referred have not been identified. A “journalist” for NBC, Savannah Guthrie, claimed that she obtained a copy of the long-form birth certificate which contained a raised seal, although a researcher co-authoring a book on the forgery has charged Guthrie with criminal intent to deceive.
However, the image was declared a “computer-generated forgery” by the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse on March 1, 2012, with a second press conference given on July 17, 2012 stating that those conclusions had surpassed the standard of probable cause.
In December, a video sent to The Post & Email by Tea Party Power Hour host Mark Gillar, who has been close to the Cold Case Posse investigation, stated that “prosecutions are coming” in regard to the birth certificate forgery.
Carney’s wife, Claire Shipman, works for ABC News, which, like other mainstream media outlets, has refused to air reports on the declared forgery. Carney also had worked for ABC as a contributor to “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.” When Stephanopoulos interviewed Obama in 2008 and Obama described his faith as “Muslim,” Stephanopoulos reacted by “correcting” Obama with, “You mean your ‘Christian faith,'” after which Obama quickly said, “My Christian faith.”
A significant announcement is expected to come from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in the near future on an investigation launched as a result of the birth certificate probe.
Obama’s previous press secretary, Robert Gibbs, had laughingly tossed off questions about why Obama had not presented his long-form birth certificate in 2009, claiming that the “short-form” posted at The Daily KOS in 2008 was the only birth document available.
Gibbs now serves as a contributor to MSNBC, which is clearly left-leaning and Obama-supportive. In 2009, then-Obama communications director Anita Dunn said that the Obama campaign had “controlled the media” and therefore, the message conveyed to voters.
