“15 DESPICABLE CHARACTERS”

September 23, 2013

Eleanor Holmes Norton was one of 15 members of Congress who walked out of a hearing on September 19 while family members of those killed in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012 were giving testimony

TO: US House of Representatives,

Subject:  Spitting on Their Graves: Representatives Exit Benghazi Hearing Before Testimony From Families of Victims

Dear Representatives,

Below is a list of US Representatives, regarding subject as above, that openly dishonored America, our fallen heroes, their parents, and the US House of Representatives.

Danny Davis, IL; Eleanor Holmes Norton, DC; Gerald E. Connolly, VA; Jim Cooper, TN; John Tierney, MA; Mark Pocan, WI; Matt Cartwright, PA; Michelle Lujan Grisham, NM; Peter Welch, VT; Stephen Lynch, MA; Steven Horsford, NV; Tammy Duckworth, IL; Tony Cardenas, CA; William Lacy Clay, MO; Carolyn Maloney, NY

I must register my disgust and open anger that U.S. Representatives, whose duty is to serve “we the people”, can lower themselves to the disgraceful level in dishonoring fallen warriors and their parents.  What’s even equally appalling, there is no sense, to my knowledge, of the US House of Representatives or US Senate admonishing these 15 Representatives.  How is this shame adequately described?  This vile behavior cannot be excused.

There is every reason, at a minimum, for the US House of Representatives to formally pass a resolution, admonishing this behavior by name, and forever recording in the US House of Representatives archives a day of shame in the US government. Regardless of political persuasion, this should be a near unanimous vote.

I demand these 15 despicable characters be held accountable for their dishonorable action.

Respectfully,

Harry Riley, COL, USA, Ret

  1. Honor / dishonor – they mean absolutely nothing to politicians. The Boy Scout oath taught to young kids used to say something about honor, and I believe it “was” in the Cub Scout, Girl Scout, Campfire Girls oaths also. And didn’t I see it somewhere in the Ten Commandments?
