THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR PERSONAL SAFETY

by OPOVV, ©2013

An attack at the Naval Sea Systems Command Center on Monday, September 16, 2013 killed 12 civilians at the Washington Navy Yard

(Sep. 18, 2013) — [In order to protect myself from government idiots who work for the DOJ, the following editorial is an act of fiction.]

Gun-Free Zones” are the most dangerous places in America. Movie theaters, school campuses, malls, churches, and places of employment just leave you open, unprotected, an easy picking for the nut cases who roam our land at will.

My father was a commercial airline pilot for 30+ years, and he carried his service revolver on every flight before he retired. And before the Unabomber, I always carried a weapon when I flew. When I go to the grocery store, I carry, and so does everyone who lives in my neck of the woods.

I used to work at an airport, and I carried a variety of weapons to work in my truck. Every day. Loaded. Round-chambered, safety “ON.”

Here’s the point: you are responsible for your own safety, up to a point. I personally lack any defense for an incoming ICBM, for instance. But if I’m in a mall and there’s a shooting, if I’m not the first one killed, I sure as heck am not going to be the second.

An “oxymoron” is a phrase that means the opposite, like “military intelligence.” Well, here’s another one to add to the list: gun-free-zone-military-post. That’s right, one would think that, if there’s anyplace that would be ripe with weapons, it would be a military post. Not so with our “politically correct” nonsense in America today, giving the Muslim Jihadists a number of “free” targets before the local police come to the rescue of our military.

And these Navy Yard murders, how senseless. A bunch of big and bad military guys “running for their lives” on a military base. Why? Good question.

When I was running for President in 2012, one of the items on my platform was that everyone in America who is physically and mentally qualified should own a weapon, must own a weapon, preferably a pistol, shotgun and a rifle with a scope.

Furthermore, I advocated that each and every female high school graduate be given, by local money, without any government involvement whatsoever, a lightweight .357 Magnum.

I also stated that every female, upon obtaining or renewing her driver’s license, must show a loaded gun that she either open carries or conceal carries in her purse.

The idea is to make America safer, and with qualified and responsible adults carrying, ALL crime would decrease. There’s no possible argument against my platform. Those who would disagree want to limit your freedoms or steal from you, and that’s why I go around armed, and so should you.

Remember, you, and you alone, are ultimately responsible for your own safety, and THAT’S the Truth.

Nixon may have defeated the US military in VietNam, but Clinton defeated it at home. It was his big idea to make military bases un-military.
