WHO IS THE REAL ENEMY?

by OPOVV, ©2013

Do the military “top brass” and other government “leaders” take care of America before the rest of the world?

(Sep. 2, 2013) — It was in one of those convention halls that were built by the WPA, with 40-ft. ceilings, murals, and chandeliers, everything oversized, built to last. Why, even the washrooms were done up in a big way, with two swinging doors at the entrance and two swinging doors for the exits, on a hallway 20 feet wide and 20 feet high. The row of sinks in the Men’s Room was 30 sinks long. The floor was little marble octagonal tiles, the chrome and brass as shiny as a turnbuckle on an Admiral’s flagship, and the last place to record music, the echo was so bad.

And that’s where I found myself, attending a military gathering, wives and girlfriends invited to all you can eat and all you can drink, compliments of the Entertainment Committee, standing, yes, standing on the last sink facing the four doors which were wide open onto a sea of faces, from my toes to the outer environs of the hallway. They were packed in as if everyone mysteriously acquired a “Sardine Syndrome,” all facing me, men and women, enlisted and officers, listening intently with rapt attention packed as tight as can be, everyone hanging on my every word. “Amazing” is but one word to describe the event.

I remember stopping my speech, and, for the first time, realizing what I was doing.  I became sober for an instant. I just stopped speaking, climbed off the sink using someone’s shoulder, and all dispersed quietly. The crazy thing was that for days, weeks and even months later, people would come up to me and shake my hand or pat me on the back and tell me what a great speech I gave, how they enjoyed it so. I’d ask them if they remembered what it was about, what I said, and they replied, “No, don’t remember it at all except I sure did enjoy it; wife, too!” That’s too bad, because, to this day, I, too, don’t have any idea what I said.

So I’m counting that as the SECOND greatest speech ever told, and, until someone comes along and can dispute my claim, I’m standing by it.

It is truly remarkable how strong the spoken word is, how strong the written word can be, and how strong a person’s determination, overcoming every conceivable hardship and hurdle, can be manifested, conjured, hope for, prayed for, to actually attain the goal.  I overcame 17 years of a recurring nightmare that my trip to a Far East country gave me, and I did it all by myself, but it turns out I could’ve asked my (then) wife for help had I only known how.

The human mind is the most remarkable object in the universe. Each of us has powers beyond our belief, and not all of those powers are for the greater good, unfortunately. Take what’s happening in our world today, for instance. The greatest country being taken over by a bunch of marginal quasi-human beings. Let me explain that.

It is easier to do bad, to do harm, to not give a hoot, than it is to do what’s right and honorable. It’s easier to cheat than it is to learn and memorize; it’s easier to be a slob than it is to be neat; and it’s easier to go back on your word or promise than it is to “Stand Tall,” to keep your word through thickness and adversity. Yes, being a drain on society may very well be easier. It may be easier to rob and steal than it is to be responsible and get to work on time. It may be easier to live in a jail where you are assured of meals every day. But it’s not right nor honorable to take without giving back.

I started this editorial out in a building that was built by Americans collecting welfare, but they were giving back something. They gave us the road that gives me the way to get off my mountain; they gave us Post Offices, dams, waterways. They did not just sit around doing nothing while collecting a paycheck. They were paid and, in turn, they paid back.

Yes, the mind is capable of many things. We can mold our society to reflect honor and responsibility, or we can keep what we have.

The drug problem in America is only possible through the tacit approval of law enforcement. Police are advocates of drugs because it gives them an excuse to increase their budgets, increase their payroll, and increase their power to bypass the Constitution at their whim.

Take the SWAT teams, busting doors down at 4:00 am, and for what? To exercise yet more lethal power over the citizens. Law enforcement and Government are one entity; remember that.

And so, in closing, the United States is in dire straits, but if enough people do the right thing at the right time, we shall overcome the ignorance of the Obots and of the trashing of our Constitution. We can prevail, because if we don’t win today’s fight, there will be no tomorrows.

Starting with Obama, and then his Administration, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and then trickling down to the lackeys in Congress, to any other person who cashes a government paycheck; in other words, all the people who take and don’t put back, these are the enemies that we must face before we can successfully smite our enemies abroad. We have to clean our own house before we can go traipsing off to save the world.
