AMERICA IN SIN

(May 24, 2013) — If I am sitting in my church office talking with an Exterminator about a building termite, bug and rodent prevention or correction plan and someone comes running down the hallway yelling, “Fire! Fire! The building’s on fire!” I must make a decision whether to continue the discussion about termites, bugs and rodents, as real and destructive as the problem may be, or respond to the emergency of “the building’s on fire.” The right decision is obvious.
This is a simple illustration of where we are in America. For many years the silent termites of humanism and secularism have been destroying the Christian foundation of America; bugs and rodents are known to live and spread their germs in the darkness; humanism’s bugs and rodents have now surfaced; the germs – sins – of lust, immorality, licentiousness, depravity, self-indulgence, intemperance, and wantonness have engulfed the nation and are now openly vaunted and practiced without shame.
Romans 3-13 “Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:17 And the way of peace have they not known:18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Jeremiah 6 15 “Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.”
What is America’s major problem/crisis today? Benghazi? Afghanistan? Economy? ObamaCare? Unemployment? Immigration? Amnesty? Terrorism? Gun control? Martial law? Military corruption? IRS corruption? Political corruption? Judicial corruption? Media bias? Cohabitation? Out-of-wedlock births? Redefining marriage? Same-sex marriage? Advance of sodomy agenda? Political and judicial anti-Christian actions to remove Christianity from the public arena? Persecution and prosecution of Christians for expressing their faith in the public arena?
It is evident that America is now in an unprecedented state of emergency, spiritually, morally, socially and politically. There are an incalculable number of problems and crisis. As in bygone days, because of the absence of Godly leadership, the spiritual termites, bugs and rodents have invaded and spread their infectious germs across the nation; “Everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes” (Judges 17:6); the problems are not imaginary; they are real and should be dealt with, but ‘The house is on fire!’ First, we must take care of the fire and then take care of the termites, bugs and rodents infestation.
You will note that I did not include the murder of the babies in the above list of problems/crises facing America; I did not include it because I am convinced that this is the ROOT CAUSE of all the listed problems; they are all serious problems that demand our concern and response, but they are really only symptoms of the ROOT CAUSE – the murder of the babies.
God has commanded, “Thou shall not kill”; Abortion is sin because abortion is murder. “God hates those who shed innocent blood” (Prov 6:17).“Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.” (Deut 27:25) with the wicked every day” (Psalm 7:11).
Premeditated, deliberate abortion offends God. Premeditated, deliberate abortion is a grave sin against God and His creation. The pro-life struggle has always been a spiritual battle. The Bible is clear and unequivocal: Premeditated, deliberate abortion is murder. There are no exceptions allowed, no compromises possible.
America sanctioned the deliberate murder of babies via a decree of the U.S. Supreme Court on January 22, 1973. Sixty million babies+ have been murdered since that day; these murders have offended, grieved and angered God. His wrath and judgment are being poured out daily on America because of these murders and the worst is yet to come unless there is repentance and a commitment of obedience to His perfect law in the future.
Repentance and a commitment of obedience to God’s perfect law in the future is where we must begin to resolve America’s problems and crisis. This must begin in the pulpits and pews of America.
