Help a Victimized Veteran pb

“SEIZURE IS A DOOR-KNOCK AWAY”

(May 2, 2013) — Connecticut used to be such a pleasantly below-the-radar state. Now it’s starred and scarred by Sandy Hook and the very visible case of a veteran whose guns were illegally confiscated, without cause.

David Schmecker’s story should be a clarion call for everyone who cares about liberty, especially if he/she lives in Connecticut. Here, every gun owner is registered and the process of papers filed, fingerprints recorded, photos snapped and references and backgrounds checked goes on for months. If ever there was a perfect setup for a registry in which seizure is a door-knock away, Connecticut is it.

When David, who is disabled, requested a change in his pain medication, he was ambushed by the VA hospital system. On the pretext of a “wellness check” arranged by his doctor, police forcibly searched his home, removed his legally owned firearms and escorted him to the hospital’s psychiatric ward.

After a harrowing two days as an inmate, David learned that his gun permit had been revoked. And there’s reason to believe that his doctor may have profited from David’s ordeal, based on testimony from another VA psychiatrist.

David’s case was a test for gun confiscation just as, in my opinion, the Boston Tragenda was a test for martial law. Through no fault of his own, he is now strapped with bills for his involuntary hospital stay. Plus lawyer’s fees for the restoration of his permit, firearms and rights.

This afternoon (Thursday), he’ll be interviewed by Alex Jones, who has set up a fundraising website to help him. David is having a difficult time keeping up with the bills.

Anyone with an imagination can understand how it must feel to pay thousands of dollars for services you never wanted in the first place. If you can help out, it would be greatly appreciated.
