(Aug. 15, 2012) — The Defend Rural America project was first launched in Yreka, CA on October 22, 2011 where over 1000 people, 50 groups, and 8 sheriffs united to save the Klamath River dams in Siskiyou County, California.

The result has been an unprecedented level of cooperation amongst at least 15 counties in Northern California and Oregon, and an increasing ability to make a difference by organizing effective coalitions within and across counties. And Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has not been able to proceed on his dam destruction program.

Now, the Defend Rural America campaign is being launched in five more locations throughout California, which is expected to expand the communication, coordination, and cooperation to at least 20 more counties.

These events are FREE.

Help save your communities, restore your rights, and get our country back by supporting, proting, and attending these events.

If you do not live in California, Take Heart! There are good things happening here. If we can stop it here, we can stop it anywhere.

Regards, Kirk MacKenzie
