(Aug. 4, 2012) — Three cheers for Chick-fil-A!  Well, well, well. I guess the shoe is on the other foot, wouldn’t you say? Teachings from the Bible say to “turn the other cheek,” but nowhere does it say you have to go through life stupid. Nowhere. I’m sure I’m 100% right on target when I say that for insurance, inheritance, and visitation purposes, a civil union, duly recorded in the county registry, is sufficient to cover what’s required for a homosexual couple. I, for one, have no problem with same-sex couples or civil unions.

However, I do have a problem with gays in the military, a big problem. Look, if you want to serve your country, there are many ways, but being in a combat unit isn’t one of them.

The definition of a marriage, as a right of passage, is to form a stable family-rearing unit:  Man+Woman=Child. That’s basic, the lowest common denominator. And those churches playing “grown-up” by performing same-sex marriages:  sorry, it doesn’t add up.

I’m a little bit “up to here” with the “Gay Pride” parades, the “out of the closet” and into the theme park. We’re all aware of the X and Y chromosomes and the part each plays in determining the sexual orientation of a person, but, come on; there are children present, and life is complicated enough without the blatant advertising.

Let’s see if I have this right: gays and lesbians are predominantly Democrat and therefore voted for Obama. Obama is a Muslim. In Islamic countries, they hang gays and lesbians from lampposts. American gays and lesbians will vote the Democratic ticket come November. Am I right? How stupid is that?

My wife and I went to a Chick-fil-A last Wednesday and met a lot of nice people. I doubt that there were any Obama supporters there that day. We will continue to support any company that extols Christian values. Talking with the people in line, I discovered they are just as fed up with the crooks in Washington as I. When the discussion came around to the Second Amendment, you’d be surprised (AND PLEASED!) how many women opened their purses to show their equalizer, aka gun.

A true American display of “In Your Face.”  I loved every minute of it.
