WHY NOT ENFORCE THE LAWS ALREADY IN EXISTENCE?

(Jun. 27, 2012) — It’s like this: you’re a young married couple and you decide to build a sandbox in the backyard for the kid. You figure the supplies and go to the local lumber yard for the wood and everything else and go to work on it. Okay, you have no sawhorses, so you cut the wood on a couple of kitchen chairs. You measure, mark the length and cut the wood.
The next step is to nail it all together, but the cuts aren’t quite as perfect as they are on the television shows, and it would be nice maybe if you’d pre-drill the holes for the nails, or used screws. But you soldier along because all the little kiddies are waiting impatiently just on the other side of the fence.
Okay, fine, it’s not going to be exact; after all, it is just a backyard sandbox. But does it have to look like an unleveled parallelogram? At least the neighbors appreciate your efforts and are gracious enough not to point out the modifications of “PLAN A”: Build an Heirloom Backyard Sandbox.
That night, as you prepare for sleep, you review the errors and come to a number of decisions. Decision number one is to use dried wood, low moisture content, so if it’s warped, it’s not going to warp anymore. Then a planner would be nice, and a table saw, with a really big table, and even a covered HV/AC equipped building with plenty of good lighting that you can lock up at night and not worry about your tools. And a break room, with a big screen TV to watch the games on. Maybe a railroad siding: just load up the box cars with your product to be exported across county or even state lines.
All these plans and modifications after just one fiasco of a backyard sandbox, all from a person who has never served in Congress and doesn’t work for the Government.
And speaking of Congress, let’s review their backyard fiasco. One day there was one illegal immigrant in the United States. That night, instead of a member of Congress thinking about how to remedy the problem, they did . . . nothing. And because they did . . . nothing, more and more came across, at first HUNDREDS! Hundreds when there shouldn’t even be one. Then many, many THOUSANDS! And there shouldn’t be one. And then, today, there are MILLIONS of illegal immigrants, and there still shouldn’t even be ONE in our country. And the members of Congress continue to do . . . nothing.
Well, I have a suggestion: DEPORT THEM ALL. Hello, anybody home out there? It’s not an “Immigration” problem, the problem is with weak-kneed sorry politicians who feed at the trough of taxpayer dollars. Members of Congress aren’t paying for illegal immigrants, and if, by chance, their paycheck is affected they just vote themselves a raise so there’s absolutely no incentive for them to do anything except not to make waves. “Leave the Gravy Train Alone!” is the motto of the Congress.
There is NO IMMIGRATION REFORM. There are, however, government employees going out the door and earning their oversized paychecks. Either deport them or be fired, and we the people, government employees’ bosses, will hire people who will follow the laws on the books. And those members of Congress who do not support following the law we’ll send packing, maybe to their respective state penitentiaries.
