WHEN IS “BELIEF” THE SAME AS “KNOWING?”

by One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet, Presidential Candidate

Should anyone be arrested for having defended himself against attackers or intruders?

(Jan. 21, 2012) — There is a difference between “I believe” and “I know.”  You’re at a restaurant and you see on the menu an ice cream concoction that makes your mouth water.  Not only does the description use words such as “mouth-watering,” “delicious” and “memorable,” but there’s a life-sized, glossy-colored photograph for your viewing pleasure.  And if that weren’t enough, they added this: with every order a professional photographer will immortalize your ecstatic look as you take your first taste, and you will be given an 8 x 10, suitable for framing, free of charge.

But you don’t know if you’ll even like it until you try it. I was visiting a town once and wanted a pizza, so I looked in the phone book and read “Voted number one three years in a row.”  I tried it, took one bite, and that was it.  True story. It was really that bad, and I was hungry, too.  So you can “believe” until the cows come home, but you’ll never really know.

However, there are some special circumstances in which belief equals knowing. I’ll give you a believable example: someone breaks into my house, Bang, and then another Bang, the Coup de gras, the “I’m-not-making-the-Bernie-Goetz– mistake” and allowing myself to be sued, as in maybe I should have given the “suspect” “dialog time,” as in “Stop or I’ll shoot.”  No way; in the real world you don‘t try and talk someone to death.

I just read where a grandmother was caught with a loaded gun trying to board a plane. My first thought was “Why weren’t you flying on 9-11 when we could’ve used you!?” But, no, the Gestapo had other ideas, and none of them good.  The reality check here is that responsible adult citizens ought to be able to be armed for self-preservation. All of our armed forces, alphabet-soup government agencies, law enforcement personnel, and all of the hundreds of thousands of weapons and millions of rounds of ammunition didn’t do those helpless Cub Scouts who were traveling to Disneyland any good on 9-11. Those poor kids were rammed into the Twin Towers at a high rate of speed and there they died, with no one to protect them. No one. They were just children going on a high adventure and were sacrificed on the American Altar of Stupidity.

So what is it? What do we have, from 2001 to 2012? I’ll tell you exactly what we have. We have a complete and utter failure of our government protecting law-abiding citizens. We have a government which is targeting its citizens and ignoring their safety. We have incompetent military leaders who follow illegal orders from someone who should be tarred and feathered, and run right down to a cage in Gitmo, along with EVERY MEMBER OF HIS REGIME.

We are not safer. We are not better off. We are sitting ducks:  our families, neighbors and all of us Americans are targets of opportunity, and our government does nothing. If I see a killer approaching my house, I don’t wait for him to break into my house, nor do I invite him in the front door. Not me; I waste him where he is, yet our government ALLOWS our enemy, Muslims and illegal immigrants, free access, and then you tell me how “safe” we are.

No, we have to protect ourselves, and we have to protect our country. We have a total incompetent in the White House backed by a regime and advisors that are equally incompetent in safeguarding you and your prosperity. That’s reality. Another reality is you and you weapon. Believe this as fact: you HAVE to take care of your own first, and that includes your country.  We better take charge of it.

Indeed we are sitting ducks. The enemy that strikes us is not diminished in any thing but being apprehended and successfully removed from our society as conspirators in a criminal enterprise openly called an ideology or religion depending on which will apease them the best. http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2012/01/now-tweeting-ansar-al-mujahideen-english-forum-amef-the-main-al-qaeda-english-language-forum-spreading-online-jihad-i.html So much for 11 years of “taking the fight to the enemy”.
