“NO DIFFERENT THAN MONROE COUNTY”

by a Visitor

Is the entire state of Tennessee "hopelessly corrupt?"

(Sep. 25, 2011) — The following email was received in the editor’s mailbox this evening:

Hello Sharon

We did go to see Walter today…what a trial that was….but don’t tell Walt that or he will feel bad. We arrived shortly before 1:30 into a concrete walled room with a scarcity of chairs and a lot of noise. Thankfully someone told us a little bit about the procedure. We filled out the paperwork showed our id and waited. We finally go in to see him about 4:00 PM. He said the conditions are no different than Monroe county…..cold, over crowded and miserable. As for the petition for release he declined to sign it as he felt it would negate his principles that he is stamnding on and possibly undermine his claim of juridictional validity. I am not sure if that would be true or not, but it is his decision and he has to live with it so I will respect it. Today he was subdued and it was extremely difficult to hear him in that visiting cell. I know I did not hear most of what he said. We gave him our phone number to call collect and offered to call anyone for him. He declined that too. He feels like he will have to sit for the 4+ months ahead of him. Only the Lord can open the door for him. We said a prayer before we left and our hearts were heavy for him. I will write to him as often as possible to keep his spirits up and so he knows he is not forgotten. We will go to visit on occasion, but we cannot go frequently.

Ask folks to pray for him and write to him. He was surprised when we told him your phone system did not take collect calls so he needed to call us and we will relay anything on to you. We offered him money and he said “No” What more can we do for him? I will stay in touch if anything happens or we hear anything from him. Keep up the good work on his behalf…..
