Obama “pals around” in neighborhood of Louis Farrakhan and his Fruit of Islam

FARRAKHAN’S SECURITY GUARDS INVOLVED IN ALTERCATION WITH SECRET SERVICE WHERE OBAMA SPENT SATURDAY NIGHT

(May 30, 2010) — Media sources here and here have reported that Louis Farrakhan’s security force, Fruit of Islam, had a “standoff” with the Secret Service and presidential press pool as Obama watched a hockey game “at the home of a friend” across the street from Farrakhan’s house in the Hyde Park section of Chicago last night.

Obama had lived in Hyde Park since the 1980s and begun his political career there.  He became a member of the New Party, which had been organized in 1992 with the purpose of pulling the Democrat party to the left and instituting socialism in the United States.

Obama’s relationships with several questionable people in Hyde Park surfaced during the 2008 campaign, but mainstream news media downplayed the depth and breadth of those relationships which are arguably now more apparent.

The Washington Post has reported that Hyde Park is a home for radicals.  Louis Farrakhan has been the leader of the Nation of Islam (NOI) since 1978.  In 2007, Farrakhan was given an award by the staff of a magazine published in the name of Rev. Jeremiah Wright, former pastor of the Trinity United Church of Christ to which Obama had belonged for 20 years.  The award stated that Farrakhan “truly epitomized greatness.” Of Obama, the author asked, “Where is his sense of outrage?”

Jeremiah Wright had traveled with Farrakhan in 1984 to Libya to meet with its leader, Moammar Gadhafi.  Gadhafi has been the dictator of Libya since 1969 after staging a coup against the king.  He has reportedly “turned Libya into a haven for anti-Western radicals” and has called Obama “my son.”

The Nation of Islam religion teaches that its founder, Wallace Fard Muhammad, is the “Messiah” of the Christians and the “Mahdi” of the Muslims.  Between its founding in 1930 and 1975, 75 NOI centers had been built throughout the country.  With a new leader appointed in 1975, the group was renamed and forged closer ties to Islam.

The Obamas’ house is here.  Obama was visiting the home of Marty Nesbitt, who lives across the street from Farrakhan.  Nesbitt was Obama’s campaign treasurer during the 2008 presidential race.

During the 2008 campaign, Farrakhan called Obama “the messiah.”  According to the website of the Anti-Defamation League, which labels the new Arizona anti-illegal immigration law “misguided,” as does Obama, Farrakhan has called Jews “bloodsuckers” and has stated that “The Black man and woman have always been looked upon as the ‘property’ of White America; and particularly, members of the Jewish community. They’ve always looked at you as ‘belonging’ to them.”

Fruit of Islam is described as the “male-only paramilitary wing of the Nation of Islam (NOI). The Fruit of Islam wear distinctive blue or white uniforms and caps and have units at nearly all NOI temples. Louis Farrakhan, as head of the Nation of Islam, is commander-in-chief of the Fruit of Islam…”

The Fruit of Islam website describes members as “respectful to all regardless of color, class or creed.”  However, it also states that “Fighting isn’t always with the fist, the fight we have before us today is for the total liberation of our people from a system that has, historically, been opposed to our freedom, justice and equality.”

The site also describes itself as “the forum for the Elite Black Man” and claims the ability of the organization to make soldiers out of “Black Men.”

The altercation with Fruit of Islam reportedly started when a reporter’s foot touched the grass which bordered on the curb outside of Farrakhan’s home.  The reporters in the press pool have indicated that a man in jeans and a T-shirt asked them to keep off the grass, a request with which the reporters complied, even though the grass in question was the property of the city.

A Fruit of Islam member asked a member of the Secret Service who was accompanying the reporters to move the van in which the reporters had been traveling.  The Secret Service officer reportedly replied, “We will do nothing to interfere with whatever is going on in there.”  However, his response evidently was inadequate to the Fruit of Islam members who serve as Farrakhan’s security detail, and three more FOI members emerged from Farrakhan’s home.  A group formed and began chanting “Islam!” and taking pictures with their cell phones of the van, its license plate, and the pool of reporters.   When one of them began to approach the reporters, the Secret Service agent asked him to “please move away from this group of people.”

Several other Secret Service agents arrived but were outnumbered by the Fruit of Islam members.  It is unknown whether either group was armed.

Various accounts of the standoff state that a man calling himself “Reverend Gary Hunter” arrived, claiming that he had contacted Farrakhan and asked him to call in the Fruit of Islam guards.

During the 2008 campaign, Obama had said that Bill Ayers, former member of the domestic terrorist group “Weather Underground,” was “just another guy in the neighborhood.” However, research has revealed that Ayers and Obama had a much closer relationship than that and that Ayers most likely ghost-authored Obama’s book, Dreams From My Father.”  The author of the book Barack and Michelle:  Portrait of an American Marriage, Christopher Andersen, claims that someone “in the neighborhood” stated of Obama and Ayers that “Everyone knew they were friends and that they worked on various projects together.  It was no secret.”

One report states that Ayers had visited the White House twice by October 31, 2009 since Obama took office.
