Tea Party Parties On

IN THE CROSSHAIRS OF THE CLINTON MACHINE?

(Feb. 21, 2010)  —  On February 27, the Tea Party Movement will celebrate its one-year anniversary, according to the calculations of the Tea Party Patriots’ website.  Next Saturday will see “Recharge the Movement” protests and nationwide screenings of The Tea Party Movie:  The Documentary.

Having previewed the movie last night, I can report that the film is a patriotic, grassroots-type effort that may seem amateurish compared to a professional movie-maker’s production but which reflects the goodness and sincerity of T.E.A. (Taxed Enough Already) people and captures the spirit of the movement up to and including the 9-12-2009 march on Washington, D.C.  I would like to have seen somewhat more of a Native American theme to remind the public of the original Boston Tea Party in 1773, but there were plenty of period-costume reminders of Colonial times.  The movie is certainly a worthy record of historical grassroots democracy in action.

Other Tea Party events are scheduled throughout 2010.  Following the events of Feb. 27, the Tax Day Tea Parties and Rollout of the “Contract from America” will occur on April 15, followed by events clustered around July 4.

Enter Clinton and Carville

The continuing success of the Tea Party movement has led to recent belated serious coverage in the mainstream media and has apparently inspired the Clintons’ political machine to rouse itself to attack-hog status.  (The Clintons’ political career was founded in Razorback territory in Arkansas.)

Andrew Breitbart’s website reports that Bill Clinton and his lapdog, James Carville—or is that Carvile?—now plan to conduct a search-and-destroy mission against the leaders of the Tea Party movement.  Breitbart’s headline reads “Clinton Plottting Tea Party Counterattack,” and we can be sure that snide, shark-attack tactics will be applied if James Carville smells the faintest hint of blood in the water.

Big Government [Breitbart’s site] has learned that Clintonistas are plotting a “push/pull” strategy. They plan to identify 7-8 national figures active in the tea party movement and engage in deep opposition research on them. If possible, they will identify one or two they can perhaps ‘turn’, either with money or threats, to create a mole in the movement. The others will be subjected to a full-on smear campaign. (Has MSNBC already been notified?)

Big Government has also learned that James Carville will head up the effort.

Having been thus forewarned, the Tea Party Patriots plan to make another video, this one entitled “I Am the Tea Party Leader” and featuring oodles and gobs of “leaders” from the ranks of patriotic protesters.  Sarah Palin will probably not be included.  The presumed import of this video will be that no matter who is attacked by the Clintonistas in big media, the movement will carry on undeterred in its mission to restore limited, constitutional governance to this socialist-beset nation.

It may seem counter-intuitive for the Clintons to be defending Barack Obama’s  “progressive” agenda, but they are certainly “progressives” themselves.  Hillary is in Obama’s cabinet, after all, and there can be no doubt that the Clintons are fully invested in the fraudulent election that put Obama in the White House.  To quote Breitbart again:

It may at first seem odd that Clinton would rush to Obama’s defense, but the tea party movement poses a threat far beyond the immediate goals of the Obama Administration.

The tea party movement could evolve into a new political realignment, one founded on a belief in limited government and less government interference in the economy. The Progressive agenda, which has been painstakingly built up over the last three decades, could be left in tatters.

As the Clintons know, “politics ain’t beanbag.” Expect the counterattack soon. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

James Carville is a professional in the politics of personal destruction, which is based on ad hominem attacks against opponents rather than on reasoned argument.  A commenter on Free Republic has some pointed comments on the expected Carville machinations:

This is going to be a classic, Clinton era, smear campaign.  PI’s will swarm over people’s histories, searching for the slightest indiscretions.  What they cannot find might be invented, all in an effort to smear and discredit anyone they can get.  If they can get someone to turn, or simply silence them…mission accomplished!  Also, the attack is designed to have a demoralizing effect on the movement, as well as putting it on the defensive, rather than the offense.  We need to be aware of this, and plow through with facts, and stay on message.

Always remember Alinsky’s 13th Rule…

13. Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.  In conflict tactics there are certain rules that [should be regarded] as universalities.  One is that the opposition must be singled out as the target and ‘frozen.’…

“…any target can always say, ‘Why do you center on me when there are others to blame as well?’  When your ‘freeze the target,’ you disregard these [rational but distracting] arguments…. Then, as you zero in and freeze your target and carry out your attack, all the ‘others’ come out of the woodwork very soon. They become visible by their support of the target…’

This is standard operating procedure for the left.  They cannot debate facts or reality.  Their beliefs are based in neither, and they LOSE if the argument or conflict is based in reality.  They have to attack messengers to discredit or disregard their messages.  It is the basis for all Liberal/”Progressive”/Democratic operations.

If I may offer a cup of metaphor stew, the people’s discontent continues to simmer, the political plot thickens, and the boil is coming to a head.
