DEMOCRATS ARE STAYING HOME, OPPOSITION IS TURNING OUT IN DROVES

by John Charlton

(Nov. 3, 2009) — It’s election day from coast to coast, and from early polling statistics it looks already that by the end of the day Democrats will have lost big-time.

Expected winners are Doug Hoffman, Conservative Party candidate in the New York special election for the U.S. House seat in the 23rd District; and Republican candidates in Virginia: Bob McDonnell (Governor), Bill Bolling (Lt. Governor) and Ken Cuccinelli (Attorney General).

Voters are coming out in droves in traditionally conservative districts in Virginia, and contrariwise, in traditionally Democratic Districts they are staying home, too ashamed and disgusted with their party to make a show.

In New Jersey, Corazine, who relied heavily on Obama campaigning for him, was so desperate as of yesterday, that he issued a robot-telephone message featuring Obama’s voice.

In Chester, Virginia, at the United Methodist Church polling station, one voter summed up the mood of the day:  “I am voting for anyone but a Democrat!”

Maybe Obama proved to be the fatal blow!
