On April 27, 2011, the White House posted what it said was a scanned copy of Obama’s certified long-form birth certificate from the Hawaii Department of Health to quell speculation that he was not born in the U.S. and did not qualify as a “natural born Citizen” as required by the U.S. Constitution. On March 1, 2012, the image was declared a “computer-generated forgery” by the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse, which will be announcing more findings in the near future.
