Obama Regime Commerce Secretary Resigns over Seizure “Distraction”

ANOTHER OBAMA REGIME LIE?

(Jun. 21, 2012) — John Bryson, the 68-year-old Secretary of the Department of Commerce, has submitted his resignation to Obama following a set of accidents occurring in Southern California on June 9, 2012, calling the seizure he allegedly experienced at the time “a distraction.”

Following the accidents, Bryson was reportedly hospitalized for one night and then flew back to Washington, DC.  On Monday, June 11, the Commerce Department announced that Bryson had “suffered a seizure” before, during, or after the car accidents.

After the Commerce Department’s announcement, some media outlets placed the word “seizure” in quotes in their reports.

In concurrence with this writer’s statement stemming from 33 years of caring for an epileptic child, a neurologist and Chief of the Division of Epilepsy and Electroencephalography at the Cushing Neuroscience Institute stated, “When there’s a new diagnosis, the important thing is to get a brain image to rule out any structural cause of the illness – such as a stroke or brain tumor.”

According to the Epilepsy Therapy Project, when a person has a seizure or a suspected seizure for the first time, “questions arise about the cause of the seizure, the chance of recurrence, dangers of another seizure, the need for a seizure medicine, and the possibility of lifelong medication…Not all first-time seizures need to be treated with medication.”

The Neurology Department at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH states of a first-time seizure:

No matter how serious your seizure is, if it is your first, you should seek emergency medical help immediately to determine if there is an obvious cause.

Having a seizure doesn’t necessarily mean you have epilepsy. Given particular conditions (such as exposure to certain drugs, high fever, or electrical stimulation), anyone can have a seizure. That’s why it’s important to have a thorough evaluation that lets your doctors pinpoint where the seizures are happening and what might be causing them.

The Commerce Department said Bryson “was given medication to treat the seizure.”  How could the doctors at the hospital have determined that medication was needed without performing the necessary tests to determine if a seizure had, in fact, occurred?

Testing can require up to a week in the hospital, but Bryson was released from the hospital the following day to make a cross-country trip unattended by a security detail.

From this writer’s experience, if seizures become suddenly more intense and frequent, develop an unusual pattern or present a life-threatening situation, electroencephalograms (EEGs) and other tests are repeated after the patient is immediately hospitalized.

In June 2008, former head of Fannie Mae resigned from Obama’s vice-presidential search team fearing he would be a “distraction,” but the story has been removed from the internet.  The formerly Obama-praising David Brooks stated of Fannie Mae:

…the Fannie Mae scandal is the most important political scandal since Watergate. It helped sink the American economy. It has cost taxpayers about $153 billion, so far. It indicts patterns of behavior that are considered normal and respectable in Washington…

Of course, it all came undone. Underneath, Fannie was a cancer that helped spread risky behavior and low standards across the housing industry. We all know what happened next.

The scandal has sent the message that the leadership class is fundamentally self-dealing. Leaders on the center-right and center-left are always trying to create public-private partnerships to spark socially productive activity. But the biggest public-private partnership to date led to shameless self-enrichment and disastrous results.

It has been reported that James Johnson ran a verbal attack campaign against anyone questioning Obama’s constitutional eligibility to serve as president through his close connection to the Obama White House.  That campaign might have been a “distraction” because Obama has now implicated himself in the Fast & Furious operation in which several hundred people lost their lives.

Obama adviser David Plouffe has called concern expressed over recent national security leaks “a distraction.”  A prominent business publication stated that during Obama’s 2008 campaign, any issue not centering on the economy were “a distraction” and that it had been one of his favorite words.

Eric Holder has referred to the contempt of Congress vote against him as “an election-year tactic intended to distract attention.”

Van Jones, Obama’s former “Green Jobs” czar, proved to be another “distraction.”

How did Bryson know that his seizure would prove to be a “distraction?” Is the real “distraction” the “felony hit-and-run”charges which could be coming?

In an interview with a Fox News medical consultant earlier this evening, Ann Romney, wife of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, stated that her conditions of multiple sclerosis and cancer made “good teachers” which made her “more sensitive” to the needs of others.  She stressed that it was important to look for “joy” in one’s life regardless of health or other challenges.

U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts did not consider his 2007 seizure a “distraction,” but rather, after a “thorough neurological evaluation,” returned to work.

Contrary to a vague reference to Bryson’s accidents having stemmed from a pre-existing medical condition, Bryson himself said, following the accidents, that he wished to “focus all of my attention on resolving the health issues that arose over the weekend.”

To which kind of “testing” is The Los Angeles Times referring?
