CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT, POOR ECONOMIC CONDITIONS SPARK UNREST THROUGHOUT THE ARAB WORLD

by Sharon Rondeau

Hosni Mubarak has ruled Egypt since October 14, 1981

(Jan. 30, 2011) —The current uprising in Egypt stemming from the people’s call for government reform which could include “a serious parliament, serious electoral laws, a serious political opening, with no restrictions on political parties” has reached almost half of the provinces in the North African nation.

The protests taking place on the streets of Egypt follow the collapse of the Tunisian government two weeks ago which ousted the president, who had held power for 23 years, as well as his cabinet.  A new leader took control for only 24 hours before “surrendering the reins of government to the speaker of Parliament, complying with succession rules spelled out in the Tunisian Constitution.”

What about the “rules” of the U.S. Constitution, specifically Article II, Section 1, clause 5, which requires that the U.S. president be a “natural born Citizen,” when the the person occupying the office refuses to produce any evidence of such after more than two years of questioning by the public?

One report states that “The downfall of Ben Ali, who had taken power in a bloodless coup in 1987, delivered a warning to other autocratic leaders in the Arab world” and that the Tunisian government had been “characterized by corruption, graft, abuse, and repression, and they’ve been brutalized.”

Following the government restructure in Tunisia, unrest in Sudan has followed over “rising prices of food and other goods.”  Protests in Algeria occurred earlier this month which included “young people hurl stones at the police, set tires on fire, storm mail offices and government banks.”

The dictatorship of Hosni Mubarak has now shut down the media and access to the internet.  A spokesperson for the Al-Jazeera television network said, “The Al Jazeera Network is appalled at this latest attack by the Egyptian regime to strike at its freedom to report independently on the unprecedented events in Egypt.”  The network had reported on the toppling of the Tunisian government two weeks ago and has been said to have “been aggressively pushing the view of unhappy Arabs throughout its inception 15 years ago. It had a striking difference from conventional Arab media run and controlled by regimes.”

In response to the violence in Egypt and Mubarak’s speech on Saturday, Obama reportedly said, “The United States will continue to stand up for the rights of the Egyptian people and work with their government in pursuit of a future that is more just, more free and more hopeful.”  However, Obama has been accused of supporting socialism and policies similar to those of Hugo Chavez of Venezuela despite Chavez’s insults, and Obama’s chiding of Mubarak in response to the unrest in Egypt was couched in financial terms.

The Daily Telegraph has reported that the Obama regime has provided a measure of support for the current uprising in Egypt. The U.S. allegedly assisted a dissident to attend a conference in 2008 in New York sponsored by the United Nations during which a plan had been formulated to topple the Mubarak regime. Mubarak also has accused the U.S. of supporting the uprising.

Obama appears to support dictatorships in other parts of the world, and there has been speculation that his recent executive orders will allow him to impose martial law on the United States.

A blogger details the dissatisfaction in Egypt and the proposed solution as “let us choose what we want, we don’t want America or Israel to affect who leads us or who we elect. We are adults, intelligent enough to decide what is right and what is wrong for us.”

Mubarak’s “regime” has been described as one of many in a troubled area of the world with a “diseased political order.”  A journalist who interviewed Egyptians in Cairo in 2005 reported their deep dissatisfaction resulting from a poor economy, police brutality and threats, and a judiciary rendered ineffectual by the Mubarak dictatorship.

In his speech to the Egyptian people yesterday, Mubarak acknowledged his “respect for the independence of the judiciary” and “new steps toward more democracy and freedoms.”  Today it is reported that “the fragmented opposition gave a sign of coming together. Nobel peace laureate and retired international diplomat Mohamed ElBaradei said he had been given a mandate to reach out to the army and build a new government” after “As many as 10,000 people protested in Tahrir Square, a rallying point in the center of Cairo, to express anger at poverty, repression, unemployment and corruption.”

The author of a report entitled “Arab States:  A Quagmire of Tyranny” stated that “We are witnessing the breakdown of the Arab state after decades of failure and mounting crises.”

In the United States, House Republicans have proposed a bill aimed at forcing Internet Service Providers to track all of their users’ activity for up to two years, reportedly backed by the FBI.  Reports last month stated that the Federal Communications Commission plans to monitor and restrict internet use for Americans.  Last October, the Washington Post described FCC Chief Julius Genachowski as “the nation’s top regulator for plain old phones and broadcast TV” and a “law-school friend of…Obama.”  Genachowski had also worked for Obama’s 2008 campaign and transition team.

Does Genachowski stand for greater or less freedom for the American people?

Is Obama a dictator, having installed 34 “czars” and bypassing the normal congressional approval process?  Where in the U.S. Constitution are “czsars” mentioned?  Even well-known politicians have cautioned that Obama is “creating a dictatorship by imposing regulations on the financial industry.”

Was Obama installed by massive election fraud despite his apparent ineligibility for office and forced upon an unsuspecting, uninformed American public?  Have peaceful protests and communications with our elected officials gone unheeded?  Is our government unresponsive in light of the constitutional crisis which exists if Obama is not eligible to occupy the White House?

Why has Congress not responded to evidence that Obama was born in a foreign country, thereby bringing his eligibility into serious question?  Some have stated that the U.S. is already “in a war” because of Obama’s “psychopathic wish fulfillment” and communist background.

Obama has granted more power to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which has had people arrested for refusing their invasive searches and medically humiliated, despite an apology from the TSA secretary.   Many Americans have protested the new measures by refusing to fly.  There is overwhelming evidence of police corruption and brutality in Monroe County, TN which has continued unabated for decades, as the state and federal authorities responsible for oversight have apparently failed to do fulfill their responsibilities.

During the presidential campaign, Obama advocated a “civilian national security force” which was included in the health care bill which was passed last March.

Does Hosni Mubarak support government reform or repression of the Egyptian people?  In power since 1981, Mubarak has ordered his army to “take the harshest measures” against those who defy the curfew he has imposed. However, one report states that the army has sided with the protesters in some areas, who have described the uprising as a “revolution.”

Mubarak plans to install his son as his successor and his speech to the Egyptian people on Saturday reportedly did not satisfy their demand for government reform.  The protesters want Mubarak to resign and have set fires and fought with police “with stones and firebombs, burning down the ruling party headquarters and defying a night curfew enforced by the army.”

A report dated February 1, 2011, states that a diplomat working for the Obama regime met with a leader of the Islamic group The Muslim Brotherhood.   The organization has been banned in Egypt since 1948 and reported as issuing a warning that “unrest in Egypt will spread across the Mideast and Arabs will topple leaders allied with the United States.”

How far away is the situation in the United States from that of Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and other Middle Eastern countries?

  1. The revolution has actually already started. The tea parties last year were the beginning. The elections in November were the second stage and if there is no action on Obama and the out-of-control government agencies then I fully expect to see the people move to stage 3, out-and-out revolt!

  2. The US population has been drugged with fluoride, chlorine, and bromine in our water and food supplies, all chemicals that block iodine uptake throughout the body. The Nazis loaded WWII death camp water supplies to pacify the prisoners. Add saltpeter put in processed meats to kill the sex drive. In addition the iodine RDA once common in bread and whole milk has been minimized by the Nazi-infested FDA so US citizens struggle to accomplish their daily chores. Iodized salt has a bromine component blocking the iodine component. There is no revolution on the horizon. Google Iodoral and free yourself. Just one tablet a day from http://www.amazon.com. http://www.hoaxofthecentury.com

  3. We now have evidence that Obama committed fraud when he signed a sworn statement that he had fulfilled all constitutional requirements to be placed on the Arizona ballot as we have Abercrombie’s statement that there IS NO birth certificate. We also have a sworn and notarized statement from an ex-employee of the Hawaiian DOH stating that it was common knowledge that his superiors had lied. Additionally, Obama has often stated that he had a birth certificate on file in Hawaii… a now obvious LIE. What more “probable cause” does an attorney general need to investigate and bring charges?

  4. > and no one wants black people to be angry

Then why did they put OJ Simpson on trial? Or put Wesley Snipes in jail? Your reasoning seems a little inconsequential.

Also, Sharon, I cannot quite make out from your article if you think it’s a good thing the US government promotes change in Egypt (because it’s a dictatorship) or if it’s bad (because it supports the Muslim Brotherhood at least indirectly).

Mrs. Rondeau replies: Ahhh, then the article was effective! As a hard news piece, the reader is not supposed to know my opinion; only the facts, so that you can decide for yourself.

  5. As usual, Sharon covers the issues that few journalist cover. The impending revolt of the American people is looming large. The form it takes initially will not be fire bombs, violence, and rock throwing. Rather, an escalating, relentless bombardment of citizens that are tired of being scammed by DC, the FED, and the banksters. We’ve had it! The perpetual lies and corruption from the top down is past the tipping point.

The nonsense of not voicing this outrage against the liar-in-chief and his policies for political correctness is all part of it. Once free speech is cut the nation will respond in unfavorable ways. Barry’s best option is to resign NOW before it gets to the Egyptian stage. The dis-satisfaction of barry soetero’s fraud against the people is already percolating to levels of political upheaval. It is not about rhetoric, verbal slapinskys (term of Alinsky style control) or party differences. The citizens of this country want America back, all of it. Fire every czar, the agency directors, the government fat cats collecting high wages for zero productivity to our depressed economy and let the business people who have common sense to return work and wage to our land. The present occupiers of DC economic policy never worked a real job or ran a business. Community organizers only destroy things, they never build or manufacture. Look at the record. Sowing seeds of discord is their main stay demanding something for nothing.

  6. The picture that Fox News internet shows of the Revolution in Egypt looks like the size of an American Tea Party! We have had more than a million people show up in DC when our warnings began. The bottom line is this. It does not physically take years for the law to act on anything. I am tired of this hurry up and wait attitude. Some of us knew Soetoro Obama was not legal before he was elected. As to the rest of you cowards, that make excuses for our so called elected officials and fail to question why has Congress not done anything about the Dictator at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. that you hired, then what are you waiting for an order or a formal invitation. So where do we stand right now? Probably it has come to, “if you want it done, then you will have to do it yourself”. You do not need a college degree to know when you have been conned.

So in answer to the ever pending question why did they do any of ‘this’. The answer is, because they did, because they could. Only because the people allowed and enabled ‘it’ to happen. When the speaker of the house and majority leader publicly accept the eligibility question and do nothing to find out, twice now, then the official message is loud and clear to me. Expect nothing from them. All we the people do is attempt to make people do their job, or fulfill their campaign promise. Well how is that working out for you?

  7. The U.S. is very far away from open revolt because we can’t even get our elected representatives interested enough in our strongly held views to fairly examine the evidence of Obama’s enormous fraud. The reason for that failure is that Obama passes for black (tho he is just as white as black and is certainly not African-American), and no one wants black people to be angry.

    1. Obama is an Asian. He has no Negroid physical features and speaks English at the Fifth grade level like all foreigners. Believed to be from Buddhist Thailand as he resembles the Thai king and may be related. Google Thai king. .All of the Thai have Dumbo ears, heavy eyebrows and heavy hair which Obama keeps cut short to hide that he is not Black. Eyebrows severely shaved or plucked. The Fraud never ends in America.
