(Jul. 4, 2023) — [Editor’s Note: The following interview contains disturbing information about human, and especially child, trafficking over the U.S. border and elsewhere in the world. Parents should decide whether their children are mature enough to consume the subject matter.]
On Monday, podcaster and former New Mexico law professor David Clements interviewed, along with fellow podcaster Joe Oltmann, former CIA and DHS operative Tim Ballard, whose signature film, “Sound of Freedom,” premiers today in theaters around the country.
After bringing on Oltmann and navigating an audio challenge, Ballard told the story of how he left government service after 12 years and launched “Operation Underground Railroad” in 2013 with the assistance of Glenn Beck, with whom he remains associated.
Released by Angel Studios, the film features Jim Caviziel of “The Passion of the Christ” fame playing Ballard, who said he was driven to found his own enterprise after the government told him to “come home” while in the process of serving as a consultant in Colombia to rescue more than 120 women and children victimized by traffickers.
Unable to simply “leave” the operation in midstream, Ballard said he first called his wife, who despite their comfortable circumstances and six children, supported his desire to part ways with the government and complete the operation.
That “bust” subsequently took place, Ballard said, and is depicted early on in the “Sound of Freedom.” Since then, he said, his organization has rescued “thousands and thousands” of children around the world.
During the interview, Clements asked questions aimed at identifying the sources of human trafficking, whose end users Ballard had been investigating as a DHS agent, and “where the demand’s coming from and what role America plays.”
“You can’t understand this problem unless you first look at it from the perspective what I call — I probably misnamed this — but I call it ‘the economy of pedophilia,'” Ballard replied, “because everything starts making sense once you understand that. The United States is the number one consumer, year after year, of child rape videos, and oftentimes we hit top 1 or 2 in production, and we also are in the top three for destination countries for human trafficking…”
Ballard recently met by invitation with Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy and “several congressmen, mostly Republicans,” who he said expressed concern over the number of children brought over the U.S.-Mexico border and are subject to trafficking within the U.S.
He went on to discuss the promotion within many public schools to “gender-affirm” and “sexualize” children. Those efforts, he said, can lead to “consent to gender mutilation” and victimization by pedophiles. “I’ve been tracking and hunting pedophiles for 20 years; I know their agenda; I know their platforms. Sometimes they’re very public…They are sitting back and saying, ‘Thank you’ to the godless leftists in America ‘who are finally doing what we’ve been asking them to do for decades’… when you sexualize kids, when you say kids can consent to all things and everything, when you say remove God from education, remove parents from children if they get in your way — these are all pedophile platforms, and they’re all leftist platforms, and it scares the h*** out of me.”
Reporting by Alex Jones appears to corroborate that child trafficking into the U.S. is taking place. For its part, DHS acknowledges human trafficking is an area of concentration.
