Spread the love

(Sep. 30, 2022) —

Through the trees, in cloak of night, the mighty king of forests strides,
The pollen of the glowing moss rises and lights his eyes.

He stops over a drop of dew, glistening in moonlight,
Then gently breathes his life in it and views it come to life.

The drop expands and stretches forth a dainty see-through form,
Who with a bow instinctively knows why it was born.

It spreads its wings, lifts itself, then takes a sudden dive
Into the earth and creates, there, new sprites who come alive.

As one they form a watery pool, then start to dance and giggle,
Causing waves to cut through earth and down the hill to trickle.

The worldly man will explain how the course of nature runs,
But there’s a king, who gives life, known by sprites and little ones.
