(Apr. 15, 2022) — Every now and then, there appears on that stellar platform of free speech, Twitter – just kidding, Virginia – a “tweet” that says it all. The tweet comes from Vernon Jones, Trump-endorsed African-American GOP candidate for Congress in Georgia’s 10th Congressional District.
The tweet was in response to the news that tri-nation citizen Elon Musk – United States, South Africa and Canada – and enemy of censorship everywhere is attempting a hostile takeover purchase of Twitter. Commenting on the news, Vernon Jones tweets: “Elon Musk just made a $43 billion offer to buy 100% of Twitter. THIS is how we take down Big Tech. Elon is quickly becoming my favorite African-American.” (Emphasis added)
Boom. Spot on.
The potential that the richest man in the world is positioning himself to restore free speech to the Twitter platform is generating tsunami-like waves everywhere. Specifically, Musk has made an offer to purchase the platform for $43 billion.
The left-leaning website AXIOS commented: “The world’s richest man … is increasingly behaving like a movie supervillain, commanding seemingly unlimited resources with which to finance his mischief-making.” (Emphasis added)
Seriously? Musk’s efforts to preserve and restore free speech to one of the most ubiquitous “public square” platforms on the planet constitutes “mischief?” Only in the fevered, diseased and demented minds of leftists would such a characterization make sense. At all.
But I digress.
Back to the Jones tweet, here we have a Black, natural born citizen American aspiring to represent his constituents in Congress lauding the efforts of a tri-citizen hyper-billionaire – who could never himself be president because he is not constitutionally eligible – to restore perhaps the most important pillar of the Constitution to the public square. Jones also experienced a “Reagan epiphany” in 2021 following the “election” of the current Goofball-in-Chief, changing his prior political affiliation to GOP.
Not surprisingly, the current Twitter censors – AKA, the Twitter Board of Directors – have vowed to not “go quietly into the night” and are apparently considering various “poison pills” to prevent the Musk takeover.
How this will play out over the next few days and weeks is anyone’s guess. But the fact that Musk would “put his money where his mouth is” speaks volumes – nay, multiple libraries of volumes – about his seeming deep dedication to the observation normally attributed to Voltaire (or to Evelyn Beatrice Hall, a biographer of Voltaire), but long ago abandoned by the mass media and “public square” oligarchs like Twitter: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
Time will tell, but Musk – a white guy – may become a favorite African-American to a slew of other folks of many ethnic and racial backgrounds who revere freedom of speech, even if the Twitter takeover fails. Principle should trump race every time…, no pun intended.
It’s interesting how unimportant free speech is to the left when their narrative comes into question, especially when facts and truth are pointed out as showing their narrative to be false!!!!! These are the same people who fought so hard to enact Title IX to give women equal opportunity in athletics but now toss them aside when a satanic movement (similar to a bowel movement) demands they change the playing field in their favor and the womens’ access to a level playing field vshould be used to give an unfair advantage to men who can’t win when competing against other men!!!!! Look at this Thomas person, he swam on a college mens’ team for 3 years, never rising above 418th but since competing against biological women he has won every meet he has entered, and has shattered records held, sometimes for decades, by biological women!!!!!!!!! When college women protest they are called “trans-phobic” and belittled by the left!!!!!!!!!!
