(Mar. 24, 2022) — Despite all the attention given to the tragic but faraway Russia-Ukraine war, the ongoing Biden Border Rush is a much bigger threat to our nation. It’s an invasion.
It would be great if our lawmakers would at least pay as much attention to our own border as they are to the Ukraine situation.
The invasion of our border is a continental catastrophe. The invaders come up through Latin America and pass through Mexico in order to reach the United States.
Our previous president, Donald Trump, was able to get a better handle on the border, in part because of his pressure on Mexico to reduce the crossing of non-Mexicans through their country, the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy, and deals with Central American countries. In other words, Trump used his foreign policy authority to improve border security.
The hordes of migrants crossing into Mexico via Guatemala today are from countries throughout the world. Many of them are likely to eventually make it to the United States.
Tapachula, a Mexican city not far from the Guatemalan border, is a major thoroughfare for the migrants as they begin the Mexico phase of their journeys.
Mexico issues permits to many migrants allowing them to cross Mexican territory to get to the U.S.
However, Mexico doesn’t always act as quickly as these people would like, so they sometimes get impatient and start causing trouble.
The most recent outbreak in Tapachula was reported in the Mexican media.
On March 18, 200-300 foreigners broke into an immigration processing station in Tapachula.
According to Excelsior, the group was composed of Cubans, Venezuelans and Nicaraguans. According to Milenio, the group was composed of Central and South Americans, Haitians and Cubans. All of those groups were probably represented.
Here is a report of the attack from Excelsior (my translation):
Cuban, Venezuelan and Nicaraguan migrants entered by force the offices of migratory processing in the southern zone of Tapachula, where they destroyed office furniture, computers and threw stones that left a dozen office personnel injured… The migrants threw chairs, desks, computers and broke the internal window panes.
Amazingly, none of these rioters were detained by Mexican authorities.
And, according to Excelsior…
Apparently, the migrants were egged on outside the offices of the bureaucracy by two supposed defenders of human rights from Nicaragua, Ignacio Rocha and Rosa Castillo, whose organization is called ‘Miel y Canela Foundation’…
The Miel y Canela Foundation is a Florida-based organization.
There were a couple of comments attached to the Excelsior article.
“And why don’t they deport these criminals?” asked one commenter. Another called the migrants “these illegal animals.”
Sounds a little xenophobic, doesn’t it? At least, if an American had said such things.
