(Nov. 5, 2020) — At approximately 5:43 p.m. EDT, veteran Fox News journalist Eric Shawn reported that the Trump campaign’s claims that Philadelphia ballot-counters have barred Republican observers is “not true,” citing as his source a single observer who claimed he was not obstructed.

Shawn repeated his assertion at least twice, then stated that “perhaps” the campaign’s claims have merit given another on-camera observer’s report that he was allowed in the building but not within a distance where he could observe the proceedings with any detail after a stat judge ruled in the campaign’s favor and mandated a six-foot distance inside the ballot locations.

The claims “are just not true,” Shawn asserted, looking directly into the camera before contradicting himself.
