(Nov. 14, 2015) — [Editor’s Note:  The following two messages were received following an email sent by reader Robert Laity to the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office on Friday.  In his email, Laity claimed that Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Marco Rubio, Gov. Bobby Jindal and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum are not “natural born Citizens” as required by Article II, Section 1, clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution for the office of president.]

Dear Mr. Laity,

The complaint you raised needs to be directed to the Ballot Law Commission.  According to the Commission’s rules, you need to file an original and 5 copies of your complaint, addressed to the Ballot Law Commission in care of the Secretary of State.  Here is a link to the Commission’s rules:   http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rules/state_agencies/bal100-600.html.

The New Hampshire Ballot Law Commission has jurisdiction over disputes arising over whether declarations of candidacy filed with the secretary of state’s office  conform with the law.  See RSA 665:7.  As such, your complaint should be filed with the Ballot Law Commission.  The Commission’s mailing address is at the Secretary of State’s Office, 107 North Main Street, Rm. 204, Concord, N.H. 03301.
