“INCOMPETENT PEOPLE”

(Aug. 16, 2013) — The joke in the hallways of State is “What’s new?” followed by laughter, and the more chaotic Egypt, Benghazi revelations, and revised Rules of Engagement (ROE’s) become, the more laughs that last longer. If you work at the State Department all you do is laugh all day, and going home is truly a relief, unless someone calls and says, “Kerry,” and then hangs up.
It would be funny if it wasn’t our guys and gals getting killed, and that includes the Syrian and Egyptian Christians who, even though they may not be U.S. citizens, mean more to us than any Muslim within our borders, and that includes the de facto failure of a president, Obama.
The reality of American foreign policy is based on a narrow world view that promotes violence over any other alternate solution to a problem that may have been caused by the volunteered interference (by America) in the first place, perhaps to go so far as manufacturing a reason for intervention in the form of “foreign aid.”
In the beginning there was The Word, which was spread by missionaries, two millennia of sharing the “Golden Rule and let it go at that. But for some reason our government has to put its two cents in, interfering with Good Works, distorting the Truth, so that if the heathens don’t support us they, somehow, become our sworn enemy: you are with us or you are against us. No, I think there are other sides of the coin, such as if they don’t support us they may not support the Communist hoards either. They may not support the dictators and tyrants of the world’s sociopaths, either.
It’s not an us versus them; it’s not an “either or” proposition. It is, in the reality on the world’s stage, the US playing a part that gets along with the other parts, no prima donnas welcomed when we, as a country, have fallen to the back of the line in child pregnancies, illiteracy scores, math and science scores, healthy babies, obesity and plain old common sense. If you lower the bar for some affirmative action, then the end result is that you bring the whole country a notch lower in the world, so that (today) our expectations are only as high as the lowest capabilities of the comprehension of whomever we have running the show. There is no better example of that than Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State as four Americans were wantonly murdered in a Muslim country on the anniversary of 9-11.
Doesn’t it make you want to scream, “Hello! Anybody out there paying attention!” We’ve a long, long, history of incompetent public servants. Look at the head dude of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who can’t even protect one of his men, LTC Terry Lakin, as he was being railroaded in a kangaroo Court Martial. Look at the IRS, NSA and all the other fiascoes, with Homeland Security playing Gestapo, targeting Americans, not for any concrete reason except that they can, which is where the lowering of our standards begin to hurt us, allowing the country to become a Third World Gulag.
We’ve settled for second-rate, damaged goods in the public sector, from Hillary to the local Goon Squad, allowing incompetent people to call the shots, so we end up with four murdered in Benghazi. This country can’t afford one more day of Obama, let alone four years of Hillary.
