I have never watched the Paula Deen Show, nor have I purchased any magazines or products of hers simply because I am not into cooking.  Just not my thing, however it has come to my attention that you folks at Wal Mart have made the ridiculous decision to persecute Ms. Deen by discontinuing any association with her or her products. Well,  I can tell you that my opinion is that this decision was made out of fear of consequences and or simply political correctness.  I am sick and tired of Americans being persecuted for the freedom of speech which is supposed to be guaranteed by our constitution.  I am also sick and tired of the double standard being applied to our speech.  It is all well and good for any black person or anyone having any partial % of black blood in their genes to refer to themselves and other black people as “Niggas”. It is all over the social media, in comedy clubs and in a large percentage of the rap music and movies of the present day. No one persecutes black people for referring to others as “Niggas” or “Niggers.” Furthermore, no one persecutes any black person for calling out white folks as “Crackas” or “Crackers” yet you people running Wal Mart are persecuting Ms. Dean for a common term that she may have used some 30 years ago.

When I grew up there was a saying, quite popular at the time: “Sticks and Stones may break my bones but names and rhymes will never hurt me”. In my opinion, you folks at the Wal Mart home office are out of line here and I say Shame On You for contributing to the double standard in America today.  By persecuting Ms. Deen, you re contributing to a national divide between blacks and whites by persecuting a white person for something said in times long gone by, while black people of today speak of themselves in the same terminology.  If you think for a moment that Mr. Sam Walton never in his life uttered that same slang word as Ms. Dean, you are simply fooling yourself and attempting to fool others with your persecution of Ms. Deen, which makes you all hypocrites.

Now, I think I will go to one of your competitors and purchase some items endorsed by Ms. Deen just to show my support for this unjustly persecuted woman.  Shame, Shame On All Of You !

Great idea – let’s all do that.
