Member in good standing, the proud mother of two veterans and grandmother of an active duty military service member. I am now a senior citizen who has a social security disability fixed income for my survival. When my retirement life began, I lived with security and in comfort. Then in 2013, I received an invitation to apply for a NFCU car loan following payoff of a personal loan six months early. I stated no more than $200.00/month car loan because I also had NFCU Visa. According to credit score supplied by purchase of monitoring service paid monthly to NFCU by me indicated above 700. When I received voucher and interest rate, I thought all was well, until the promissory note arrived some 20 days after my purchase date with an extremely higher interest rate and doubled the monthly payment that I could NOT afford. I immediately notified NFCU and that’s when the nightmare began and still exists. I have endured but no longer can I continue to survive in my current chaos. All attempts to remain in the good standing with NFCU HAS BANKRUPTED me.

I pray for the total recovery of our shipmate. I had a similar experience with NFCU. I had been a member since 1965 when they rescued me from a predatory lender for a new Mustang. In 12-16-05, my then wife separated from the marriage for 13 months and lived in Bay area. She returns 1-2-07, and file for legal separation. At an Order to Show Cause Hearing 2-6-07, a kick out order was executed, ordered to pay spousal support of $1,727 per month, and lawyer fees based on an ability to earn of $1,500 per month. She had more than $13,000 of undeclared funds in a NFCU account. This would have been enough support for eight months. To get me through this legal morass, I got a debt consolidation loan from NFCU. I was late paying one month. I actually paid before the next month. NFCU TOOK MY TOTAL RETIREMENTS FOR THE NEXT MONTH. I could not pay my mortgages, utilities, car; etc. They never made the adjustment. NFCU would never refinance a mortgage at high interest rate to the current lower rate. The monthly payment rate of consolidation and mortgage would have been almost identical. I finally paid off the mortgage 2015. Currently, NFCU has taken the credit card balances out of the debt consolidation loan which is in default. This has caused dublicate entries on my credit report. NFCU would not talk to me about this matter and hired an obnoxious debt collector law firm. I am between a rock and a hard place.

Good afternoon Mr. Dawson,

I am Chief Petty Officer Terry Eady, I have been a member of NFCU FOR 20 Yrs. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in February 2015. I live in Homestead, fl with my wife for 2 Yrs we have traveled back and forth on our on some to get me the reliable medical treatment. I aquarued my condition from being in Iraq in 2010 it’s called Follicular Lymphoma non curable for ever on chemo do to the unstableness. I have just come to be able to pick up the pieces of my life and slowly put them back together.
I has a credit card that Sent in default but due to my heavy treatment of chemo I was unable to deal with it or let alone have money to pay. I wanted to resolve this because I never wanted to leave a debit unpaid. I took and reassigned my direct deposit to NFCU. This morning my account received $1800. I noticed that the money went missing transferred were I did not know. I went down town Miami to the NFCU branch and talked with a Ms. Mercy. Ms. Mercy called and talked with a Mrs. McMillan who told her that she would only refund me $500 Dollars not even trying to allow me to at least get a thousand dollars back of my money to at least pay my truck payment. I explained to her my entire ordeal but this was totally meaning less to her. Her demeanour was as if she had no compassion about the sacrifices that I made for this country and how I came to be ill it was as if I truly did this and did not want to own up to it.
I asked her if I had died what would she go to get it from then her response was silence she could only give me a the evidence that I addressed her about Sir.
I went through Hell from losing so much and to lose my health and all I wanted to do was make a wrong right. If this is NFCU way of having a service members back this is something serriously wrong Sir
