Is Glenn Beck Self-Imploding?

PLEDGES FOOD, TOYS TO ILLEGAL ALIEN CHILDREN; GOVERNMENT SAYS DONATIONS FROM OUTSIDE GROUPS TO BE REFUSED

(Jul. 10, 2014) — While blaming the Obama regime and “politics” for allowing approximately 60,000 Central American children across the Mexic0-U.S. border in recent months which has resulted in a crisis over the last six weeks, radio host and commentator Glenn Beck said that on Saturday, July 19, he will arrive at a holding station in McAllen, TX with tractor-trailer trucks full of “food, water, teddy bears and soccer balls” for the children.

However, in describing the children, many of whom are unaccompanied, as “suffering” from having been caught in a “humanitarian crisis,” Beck said that he would send his own nine-year- old son on such a trek if his own country were “falling apart.”

Beck said he would tell his son that he must “get across the border” to “have a better life.”  Entry into the United States without a visa is a federal crime, despite what Beck believes interpretations of Obama’s executive orders on illegal immigration might be.

PBS reported last month that child “migrants” are expected to number approximately 90,000 in 2014 and 140,000 next year, with those who successfully enter the U.S. “overwhelming every system designed to process them, from the border patrol to the courts.”

Of the nation’s existing immigration laws which prohibit aliens from crossing the border without apprehension by the U.S. Border Patrol, Beck said that “you have to enforce them,” identifying Congress, “the president,” and the U.S. Department of Justice as the necessary enforcers.  However, Beck said that until enforcement is carried out, “we have to be charitable.”

Documents obtained by Breitbart indicate that “violence” in the Central American countries of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras is not the sole, or even the primary, reason for children and adults to stream over the U.S. border, particularly in the McAllen, TX area.

Breitbart reported on Tuesday that a leaked internal memo from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) dated June 3, 2014 states that “violence” and “poverty” in Central American countries are not the main reasons for the influx of child illegals.  “No single factor causes OTM UC migration to the United States. Rather, several factors combine to cause this, including poor economies and violence in home countries, potential employment opportunities in the United States, family reunification, and success at not being immediately repatriated drive OTM UC migration to the United States,” quoted Breitbart from the leaked memo, with its own emphasis in bold type.

On Thursday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry stated at a U.S. House Homeland Security Committee hearing in McAllen that the illegals flooding the border constitute “humanitarian and national security crises.”  Some of those allowed into the country have brought in scabies, swine flu, tuberculosis, head lice, and possibly other diseases not commonly found in the United States, while others are dangerous criminals.

Beck has acknowledged that his stance to employ “compassion” for the illegal aliens, not all of which are children, housed at McAllen and in formerly empty buildings on at least three military bases could cost him his career.

From 2009 to 2011, Beck hosted a Fox News show during the 5:00 p.m. hour, then went on to create his own subscription “Glenn Beck TV” brand and free news site, The Blaze, on the internet.

In describing the conditions in which the illegal aliens are being held for “processing” and later dispersal throughout the U.S., Beck said that “many of them have not eaten in days.”

Texas Rep. Louis Gohmert and Utah Sen. Mike Lee will reportedly accompany Beck to distribute the goods on July 19.  The Post & Email contacted both congressmen’s press representatives on Thursday morning to inquire as to the accuracy of Beck’s statement but received no response as of press time.

Gohmert’s publicly-expressed stance on the flood of illegals crossing the border, including into his district, has been that “the United States will become a third world nation if the federal government does not enforce its immigration laws.”  Gohmert is on record as opposing all illegal immigration.

Lee has opposed the immigration bill passed by the Senate last year, S.744, and instead advocated a plan to “substantially increase border-patrol manpower and assets, require completion of the fencing and biometric entry-exit system required by current law, and redirect a portion of DHS funding to border states if security is not achieved,” among other measures.

While the Catholic Church and specifically, Catholic Charities, has asked Americans to donate to assist the illegals as well as to house them, Fox News reported on Wednesday that pastors and other religious organizations have been told to stay away from the holding facilities.  “Toys, blankets and food” will also reportedly be rejected following DHS’s call for men’s underclothing several weeks ago.

Beck has raised a reported $300,000 through his charity, MercuryOne, for the aliens, who he calls “refugees.”

There are thousands of American children and adults in need of funds for life-saving medical care.

Last year, Beck stated dramatically that a witness “afraid for his life” had produced a one-page document which would set the stage for “the whole world” “to change.”  He failed to deliver on his promise of a significant announcement in the very near future, instead promising a new initiative to be launched last fall which also remains unidentified.

Beck has inexplicably ridiculed anyone questioning Obama’s background and constitutional eligibility to serve as president, even when credible evidence contradicting his public life story has been presented.  He has not reported on the work of the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse, which determined that Obama’s long-form birth certificate and Selective Service registration form are “computer-generated forgeries.”

Invoking Obama’s 2008 campaign pledge which many believe Obama has kept, Beck stated that in regard to illegal aliens’ influx into the country, “Politics is the vehicle that is driving us to the fundamental transformation of America.”
