Obama’s State Department Denied Requests for Additional Security Prior to Deadly Benghazi September 11 Attack

DETAILS EMERGE OF PLEAS MADE AND DENIED

(Oct. 4, 2012) — The U.S. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee has reported that “individuals with direct knowledge of events in Libya” have described “a long line of attacks on Western diplomats and officials in Libya in the months leading up to September 11, 2012.”  The committee will hold a hearing on October 10 in light of “a pattern that’s impossible to ignore,” according to Rep. Trey Gowdy of the Oversight Committee.

The attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya killed four Americans, including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.  The Obama regime had insisted that the attack was a “spontaneous” one prompted by the release of an anti-Islamic video, although the video had been available online for several months before the violence erupted.

According to the committee, “repeated pleas” for more security were refused by the State Department.  In a letter written by the committee to Hillary Clinton, “13 security threats” were cited as having been presented to State and ignored in the six-month period prior to the assault.  A four-star Army general stationed in the region had identified Libya in particular as vulnerable to al Qaeda infiltration seeking to destabilize the country’s interim government. The general had known and communicated with Stevens personally.

Intercepted communications indicated that the attack was clearly pre-planned.

Gowdy said that “whistleblower testimony” will occur on October 10 at 12:00 noon.  A list of witnesses who have been called upon includes a regional security officer and who left Libya in June and a Washington official who “is involved in reviewing security requests.”

When a Fox News reporter asked Gowdy, “What documents will you subpoena?” Gowdy responded, “All of them.”

The White House has refused to provide comment on the claims that more security was requested by Americans at the Libyan embassy.  A memo reportedly posted by a division of the U.S. State Department prior to the attacks appears to have been removed.

Stevens might have been betrayed by some of the Libyans charged with guarding the embassy.

What had not been reported was that there were terrorist attacks on the embassy prior to September 11, 2012. A news source which stated that it communicated with officials at the State Department reported that five Americans provided security to the ambassador, but two former Navy SEALS who were killed were “factored in” as part of the security detail but had been positioned off-site.  The State Department hired a British security firm which in turn outsourced the jobs to unarmed Libyan security guards.

The UK Telegraph reported that Susan Rice, who insisted on Sunday morning talk shows on September 16 that the attack was spontaneous, has been asked by some Republicans to resign but is being considered as “a replacement” for Hillary Clinton, who announced she is leaving her post whether or not Obama wins the election.  Rice has won an award for “distinguished contributions to the formation of peaceful, cooperative relationships between states,” and her husband is the executive producer of “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” aired on ABC News.

Stephanopoulos worked as a campaign adviser and White House Communications Director in the Bill Clinton White House, and Rice formerly served as Assistant Secretary of State for Africa in Bill Clinton’s State Department.  Stephanopoulos was the interviewer who “corrected” Obama when he made a reference to “my Muslim faith” during the 2008 campaign.  Obama insists that he is a practicing Christian and has never been a Muslim.

Is that a conflict of interest?  Has the Obama regime used this relationship and others to “control the media?”  Former Obama White House communications director Anita Dunn said that the Obama campaign “made the press cover what they were saying.”  “It was a way to get our message out without having to actually talk to reporters…It was very much we controlled it as opposed to ‘the press controlled it,'” Dunn said.  “What the voters heard, we determined…”

Dunn has accused Fox News of producing “opinion journalism masquerading as news.”

While early reports said that a doctor tried to revive Amb. Stevens “for 90 minutes,” it was later revealed that his body was dragged through the streets by the terrorists.  It is suspected that he was tortured, but that claim has not been confirmed by the Obama regime.

While the State Department has been slow to respond to media inquiries about the allegations from whistleblowers, Hillary Clinton has established an “accountability review board” to scrutinize the security situation in Benghazi leading up to the deadly attack.

Obama has continued to campaign and has made no formal statement about the terrorist attack in Benghazi or the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt on the same day during which the American flag was torn down and an Islamic one substituted for it.

Hillary Clinton has now admitted that “terrorists” “killed our people” in Benghazi despite her original condemnation of the video as the catalyst for the violence.
