ISSA AND HOLDER TO MEET ON TUESDAY

(Jun. 18, 2012) — A meeting is scheduled between putative Attorney General Eric Holder and House Oversight & Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa for 5:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday to explore whether or not an agreement can be reached on a contempt of Congress citation against Holder for refusing to turn over documents subpoenaed last fall. A vote on the contempt charge is scheduled for Wednesday of this week.
Holder had originally proposed the idea of a “briefing” and the production of a limited number of documents rather than turning over the approximately 70,000 pages sought by the committee. Holder has maintained that the Justice Department has been cooperative with Congress’s investigation of the operation which killed a U.S. Border Patrol agent, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent, and several hundred Mexican citizens. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney has supported Holder in his daily briefings.
After Holder extended his offer of an “extraordinary accommodation” to Issa last Thursday in an attempt to circumvent the contempt of Congress vote, Issa “offered to postpone” the vote after reviewing the information Holder is willing to relinquish.
Lanny Davis, a Clinton-era Democrat operative, decried a lack of moral support for Holder from fellow Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi. Holder had served as Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno during the Clinton years. Some Democrats have described the impending contempt citation as “irresponsible, unprecedented, and contrary to the rule of law,”
Reno had ordered SWAT teams to capture Gonzalez to send him back to Cuba, and his indoctrination by Castro began upon his return to the communist island in April 2000. Holder has advocated “brainwashing” of a different type earlier in his career and currently defends voter intimidation tactics used by “his people.”
Issa drafted the contempt citation as a result of Holder’s refusal to produce more than 70,000 documents pertaining to the “Fast & Furious” gunrunning operation which knowingly allowed firearms to reach members of Mexican drug cartels through middlemen. It has been suspected that Speaker of the House John Boehner has not supported the contempt charge and is concerned about the effect of political maneuverings in an election year.
Justice Department personnel, including Holder, had told members of Congress that they were unaware of Fast & Furious until early February of this year, when a letter written by the now-departed Robert Weich contending that the Justice Department knew nothing of Fast & Furious was withdrawn. A Justice Department spokesperson claimed that Holder “put a stop to the misguided tactics, called for an investigation of this flawed operation and instituted reforms to prevent this from happening again.”
Several U.S. Senators and more than 100 members of the House of Representatives have called upon Holder to resign.
Holder’s Justice Department has been dispatching attorneys to fight ballot challenges filed in numerous states against Barack Hussein Obama on the grounds that he is constitutionally ineligible to serve as President or have his name placed on the ballot because he is not a “natural born Citizen” as required by Article II of the U.S. Constitution. A court hearing today in Florida yielded the statement from Obama’s attorneys that he is not yet the Democrat nominee for president for the 2012 election rather than production of documentation showing that he meets the eligibility requirements. Atty. Larry Klayman, representing the plaintiff, stated that documentation on Obama’s background is unverified and that three affidavits from investigators have been filed to that effect.
Darrell Issa trying to work with AG Eric Holder is exactly like our trying to deal with the Iranians and Ahmadinejad; in fact I see absolutely no difference whatsoever in their delay tactics, twisted marxists philosophy, radical religious beliefs, ACORN style social doctrines, support for Islamic terrorism and the muslim brotherhood.
Issa is a typical Washington weasel. He will keep Fast & Furious going until November and then it will disappear. Granting Holder a meeting is just more stalling tactics towards this end.
Fast & Furious has become one of the all time best stumps for the pols to bloviate from. They all get to grandstand, but in the end nothing happens.
Come on Darrell, what’s up with that? You gotta do better than that!2,500 guns, $203,000,000 also out on the streets in Mexico, two murdered border agents, law enforcement officers feeling they have no support from the big “suits” in DC., families waiting for closure. Where’s the “accountability”???? I know that’s a bad word in DC today but it is the word. Either way, the paychecks just keep on rolling in DC whether we like it or not, whether you or any other “public trustee” performs their jobs, whether the country is bankrupt, whether people lose their homes and everything they have worked for, whether the Constitution has been “nullified” by the Democratic Dictator Regime, whether the future for the children had been eliminated, it’s “business as usual” in DC. How about newly elected Republican Commissioner Jim Miller who was murdered in Tennessee by very probable circumstances of certain “public trustees” in “law enforcement” departments there that were discovered to be not following the law and their “sworn duty”. Haven’t heard much about that story since FOX gave it a 4 second quick review since it might have led to mention of a certain retired Naval Officer Water Fitzpatrick and eligibility of a certain Bari Malik Shabazz posing as POTUS and the great usurper.
I’m increasingly convinced that any meetings with any members of this regime have to be made with about 3-5 Navy SEALS as bodyguards and as meeting participants. That will tend to keep the Chicago threats and intimidation to a minimum.
I am never convinced that people who go willingly into these ‘in camera’ meetings with the thugocracy have any brains at all.
