WHY THE DISCREPANCIES?

(May 7, 2012) — The book expected to be available on June 19, 2012 entitled Barack Obama: The Story has been described by the author, David Maraniss, as both a biography and a “narrative.”
A “biography” is defined as “a written account of the series of events that make up a person’s life.” An “authorized biography” is a work which involves the subject or his heirs. Obama was reportedly involved in the writing of the book, the title of which contains the word “story.”
Maraniss’s book written about Bill Clinton is identified as a biography.
The “narrative” style “describes a sequence of non-fictional or fictional events.” An informational website states that the narrative voice can be used in first-person or third-person presentations.
The writing of the new book was announced in December 2011 in an editorial at The Washington Post, for which Maraniss is an associate editor, which hinted that it was intended to affect the outcome of the 2012 presidential election. At present there is no “Look Inside” feature which accompanies many Amazon.com products at no extra charge.
What is a “deeply reported generational biography?” Why did the subject of the book need to “make sense of his past?”
What is Obama’s past which appears to have troubled him so?
Maraniss has been quoted as having said that he has “done extensive research for all of his (Obama’s) years leading up the White House.” Was Maraniss then able to locate the records which have been hidden from the public: Obama’s high school and college transcripts, medical records, college papers, any organizational memberships, and actual pages from the diaries cited in the preview released last week?
Why is Obama’s time in New York referred to as the “dark years?”
Obama’s first book, Dreams From My Father, is called a “story” and a “memoir.” In an updated foreword, Obama states of the events of September 11, 2001: “The bombs of Al Qaeda have marked, with an eerie precision, some of the landscapes of my life…” and that “my name is an irresistible target of mocking websites from overzealous Republican operatives.” Throughout the foreword, Obama writes in terms of “black” and “white,” calling himself a “tragic mulatto trapped between two worlds.”
Vanity Fair also reports that a “New York girlfriend” described in Dreams was “a compression of girlfriends.” Other accounts of the book as well as Maraniss’s upcoming one are deemed to contain “composite characters.”
But what about his being the “first black president? Are there different standards for a black president than one of any other race? What has been his mission of “hope and change?”
Obama seems to relate world events back to himself. How is an “absent parent” a “single constant” in a person’s life?
Farther on in the foreword, Obama states:
They know too much, we have all seen too much, to take my parents’ brief union — a black man and white woman, an African and an American — at face value. When people who don’t know me well, black or white, discover my background (and it is usually a discovery for I ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites), I see the split-second adjustments they have to make, the searching of my eyes for some telltale sign. They no longer know who I am…
I don’t fault people their suspicions. I learned long ago to distrust my childhood and the stories that shaped it (emphasis The Post & Email’s).
Obama then said he had “spent much of my life trying to rewrite these stories, plugging up holes in the narrative…” and that he possess a “stubborn desire to protect myself from scrutiny.”
In Chapter One, entitled “Origins,” there is profanity in the first paragraph along with Obama’s description of white people coming “from the better neighborhoods.”
Obama states that when his father died in 1982, his “Aunt Jane” from “Nairobi” called him with the news and asked him to call his “uncle in Boston.” Would that have been “Uncle Omar?”
Obama stated that his father left Hawaii in 1963, but Wikipedia states that it was 1962 in order to attend Harvard.
Obama wrote another book for children entitled Of Thee I Sing, subtitled “A Letter to My Daughters.”
One online newspaper has called Dreams from My Father “a tissue of lies.”
Obama’s alleged half-sister, Auma, has written a book stating that Obama’s parents were in touch with one another while he was growing up. Obama allegedly discovered the communication between them in “the 1980s.” But has Obama ever talked about it? Where are the school records which Ann Dunham reportedly shared with Barack Obama Sr.?
Also in Chapter One, Obama states that his parents were married in 1960, but Wikipedia and other sources state that it was 1961. A marriage certificate has reportedly never been produced. Some accounts say that the date of marriage was February 2, 1961, but another says February 21, 1961. Another report said that the “Obama camp” had given the marriage date as “February 1961.”
Then why does Obama say that it was 1960 in his book? When did the marriage happen, if it actually occurred at all? Are all of the public reports incorrect? If so, why has Obama not issued a clarification?
Obama also states that “whatever” the book is termed, he had attempted to write “an honest account of a particular province of my life.”
In writing Barack Obama: The Story, Maraniss reportedly consulted Obama’s two books but concluded that “many of the details in them are composites or reflections and not fact.”
“Memoir and biography are two very different things,” Maraniss said.
Indeed Bob, “the time is very late”. Will the Republic survive,even through this election cycle? I’m waiting to see who Romney is going to chose for VP. Not that I believe Romney will return the country to it’s Constitutional foundings, but to see if he and the GOP stomp their collective boots upon the Constitution by nominating Sen. Marco Rubio as VP. Who(Rubio), we know is not eligible.

So when Woodward and Bernstein did their big exposé on Richard Nixon they were touted as being some kind of civic minded heroic citizens doing us a big favour by exposing corruption. So now it has become quite clear and we know for sure that they are just another pair of run-of-the-mill liberal hacks, bottom feeders, charlatans, because now when corruption really abounds – they are nowhere to be found.
