“THE TERRIBLE TWOS ARE BEHIND US”

by One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet

Mao Zedong (Tse-tung) led the Chinese revolution resulting in communism, which is still in place today

(Aug. 25, 2011) — The biggest secret in our universe isn’t the location of Superman’s secret hideaway, or where exactly the planet Nemeses is, but rather, where truth is. Look, if this was a totally honest world, bags of bird food would say “Squirrel Food, with maybe some leftovers for birds.”  Let’s face it:  truth is, mostly, in the eye of the beholder. I have a theory that we subject our little ones to “Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star” not because of the music, but rather, saying, “Hear this and pay attention: this is genius.” My wife thinks that Mozart wrote a nice song for kids. See what I mean?

But, of course, at some point we all must agree on something. Children make up elaborate games, but with a defined set of rules that, if broken, may lead to censorship, or maybe get the rule-breaker ostracized. Another theory I have is that when Mao, Stalin, and Pol Pot were little kids, they cheated at all the kid games, and they were kicked out of playtime, and that’s why they grew up to become monsters. But, as I said, we eventually must have a common baseline from which to operate.  This country, the United States, used to have such a base, known and respected as the Constitution. Nice document, but then so was the Constitution of the Soviet Union, which doesn’t mean diddly if it isn’t followed.

Which is why most people of the world are perplexed as to why we don’t follow our Constitution. We have a document that virtually guarantees the rights of the individual, that is designed to keep government at arm’s length, and then we end up with the TSA. How, pray tell, is that possible?

Well, I’ll tell you, and it’s not all the fault of dumb, unimaginative, susceptible, brain-dead people (“The View” comes to mind). Apparently a lot of us never got beyond the stage of what two-year-olds go through: they rebel that the world doesn’t really revolve around them. Remember King Canute demonstrating that even Kings cannot stop the tide? See, he grew up, but the members of Obama’s regime obviously are still trapped in the Terrible Twos. For shame, for sure. What do they think, that they’re smarter than our Constitution?

And therein lies the crux of the problem: supporters of Obama, and his regime, and of their policies, fail to comprehend that, by limiting our freedoms, they limit their own. With each passing day that Obama occupies a job for which he is ineligible, exorbitantly marching on until future elections are considered superfluous, our freedoms are diminishing. But then so are theirs, true, and they don’t have the common sense to care, one way or another, because if they did, they’d force the Attorney General, or even one Secret Service agent, to uphold the law and put Obama and his supporters in prison. Alright, we’ll do it ourselves. Don’t waste your time writing letters; we’re way past that stage. The Terrible Twos are behind us, and it’s time to grow up and act like adults. We’ll know when, and so will they.
