HOW FAR WILL TWO MINUTES OF EDUCATION GO?

by Carl Swensson

The Georgia Republican Party declares on its website that the state of Georgia is "RED"

(May 17, 2011) — I was in attendance at the Republican state convention on Friday and Saturday.  I was actually a member of the Credentials Committee, and I had my moment to get up and address the entire state convention.

I asked the people in the audience – you’ll see my video which will be up soon – how many of them understood that “natural born Citizen” is “just being born on the soil?” and there was a large degree of response to the affirmative on that.  I yelled out to them, “You’re wrong!”  “Natural born Citizen” status is determined by being born on the soil of parents who were citizens at the time your birth.”  And I went on to admonish them to learn this very quickly, and if they did, then they would have the key to unseating Obama at this next election.

They will have no excuse because Obama has admitted to having a father with foreign citizenship.  Now I have to follow that up to getting emails out to all of the county sheriffs and reminding them of this.  I will send a copy of my video to them as well, along with a copy of my other video which explains what our Founders meant.  That one is on my website now.  If you haven’t already seen it, it’s probably the best work we’ve done yet.

I had only two minutes in front of them, so I had to make it count.  Unfortunately, when I started to get into the military’s being affected by all this, my time ran out, and I had to back away.  But let me tell you the best part of that story:  the Credentials Committee chairman was running on a post for the second vice-chair position, and I had developed a little bit of a relationship with him over Friday.  Then on Saturday, when it came time to announce who the candidates would be, I had someone in my convention get up and nominate me for that position.

Well, we were counting out the ballot boxes at that time, and DJ just happened to be standing next to me.  He’s quite a bit shorter than me, and he had just received a text, so he was looking at his phone.  He then said, “Oh, no!  I just found out that I’m not running unopposed anymore; somebody has been nominated from the floor, and his name is Carl!”  He then looked up at me (laughs) and exclaimed, “Swensson!”  It was too rich!  I laughed so hard!!  He said, “Is this some sort of conspiracy?  What’s going on?  I thought I had this locked up.  What’s going on here?  Are you being planted by the Tea Party?  What’s happening?”

I said, “Just chill, OK?  This has nothing to do with wanting your position, and in all honesty, what I’m going to do is withdraw my name after I have my few minutes up there.”  He replied, “Oh, yeah, sure, oh, yeah, I see what’s happening now…” and he was just absolutely beside himself.  It was really funny.

As I was backstage waiting for my time to get up there, I had some quality time with Rep. Tom Price.  He was alone sitting there.  I believe he was waiting to go up, although I never heard him speak.  I got next to him, and I said, “Tom, what’s your definition of ‘natural born Citizen?’ and he looked up at me, and he said, “Being born on the soil.”  I said, “You can’t be serious.”  I said, “You know better than that; you know that that’s only part of it.  The other part is you have to have parents who are Citizens at the time of your birth.”  He looked at me as if he really didn’t know that.  He really didn’t know that.

I said, “Look, Tom; the time has come for us to initiate a congressional Constitutional investigation into the meaning of “‘atural born Citizen.’  I’ll be in touch with you soon, because that’s what’s going to have to occur.”

The convention felt really local, as if it was a county or district group.  There was a family atmosphere within the delegates.  I guess I was expecting to be a little awestruck with the pomp and circumstance; far be it from that.  There were about 3,000 people there, and it still felt like a family.

As people were filing out, they thanked me for having said what I said.  If I reached 10%, which is 300 people, they could carry the message.  The mainstream media hasn’t discussed the issue of the foreign citizen father; if they did that, the jig would be up.  I was hoping that we would have the benefit of C-Span, but it was a private gathering of Republicans, and this type of meeting would not have been broadcast.  Had it been, it would have been a ball!

My efforts and everyone else’s have been to get the dialogue started within the mainstream media.  I heard one reference on the mainstream media when I believe it was Mark Levin who subbed for Rush Limbaugh a couple of weeks ago.  He was debating “natural born Citizen” in the terms of Wong Kim Ark, and that has absolutely nothing to do with it.  That had to do with naturalized citizens, not natural born.  I wish I’d had five minutes!

I used to think “we have to get ‘Civics’ courses back into our schools to study the Constitution and how the US Government works”. Now, I think the public schools’ version of the Constitution and the working of the US Government is NOT something I would like to have taught to the upcoming generations. I am willing to cut Tom Price some slack because “Born on the Soil” is probably what he was taught in our public schools. Sad thought isn’t it?!

Thank you, Carl ! Here is a letter inspired by your article — to the [San Diego Union-Tribune].

Dear Editor,

Do you remember this from your Civics lessons? What is a natural born citizen (NBC)? Do you really know the answer? Or do you just think that you know? Choose one of the following:

A. A natural born citizen is some one who has been naturalized as a U.S. citizen.
B. A natural born citizen is some one who was born on U.S. soil.
C. A natural born citizen is some one who was born on U.S. soil of two U.S. citizen parents.

The correct choice is C. Only C. It is based on Vattel’s International Law of Nations (a definitive work used by the Founding Fathers in drafting the U.S. Constitution), John Jay, first U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice, and in a number of legal citizenship cases. A natural born citizen must be born on U.S. soil to two parents who are, themselves, U.S. citizens. A natural born citizen is created naturally by the circumstances of birth, not by any man-made law. Answers A. and B. are incorrect. Here is an interesting twist on the NBC question: Can a child born in the U.S. of two naturalized U.S. citizens be a natural born citizen? The answer is yes — but only if the naturalizations occurred prior to the child’s birth.

The reason for the question is John McCain, former presidential candidate. John McCain is not a natural born citizen, despite Senate Resolution 517, and should not have been a candidate in the last presidential election. That is because, although his parents were U.S. citizens, he was born not on a military base in Panama Canal Zone but rather in a civilian hospital in a local town — not U.S. soil.

A final tidbit: A vote of Congress and ratification by two thirds of the states is required to change the U.S. Constitution. A Senate Resolution is insufficient to change the Constitution and it certainly cannot confer natural born citizenship on John McCain. The Rule of Law must prevail, else we are doomed to Mob Rule.

A good line to push and appeal to common sense thinking of those who have been fed wrong information, is to point out the absurdity that proposes that the framers would have been derelict in their imperative to secure and protect the office of POTUS from any foreign influence, persuasion and claim.

It is an insult to the wisdom of the highly educated framers to propose that they would have not sought to require the highest imaginable allegiance possible for eligibility of POTUS.

That allegiance can only be via being born in the nation, to parents who are citizens of that nation, any allegiance less than this would be uncertain and dubious.

Another important point is that the legal fraternity have cherry-picked ‘born to an alien makes a natural born’ from English common law, but they have omitted to mention that that although English common law allows children of aliens to be natural born if born in the land, the alien parent (visiting England) was considered as a subject of England and without the alien parent being a subject of the sovereign, a child born to a non-subject alien visiting England, cannot be a natural born unless born ‘under the allegiance of a subject’.

In short the English common law actually requires jus soli and jus sanguinis (born in the land and to citizen parents) to make a natural born.

Here’s a direct quote from the benchmark English common law case (Calvin’s case) from which the ‘alien parent = natural born’ was cherry-picked from, and the requirement for the subject/citizenship status of the parent was ignored and covered-up. (“issue” is a child)

“that issue is no subject to the King of England, though he be born upon his soyl, and under his meridian, for that he was not born under the ligeance of a subject”

This has been covered-up by the revisionist elements of the legal fraternity, dating back to early days of the republic.

We can scream and holler all we want about the fraud in the white house, but the real traders are the people in Washington who are covering for him!

Pay attention to this next quoted paragraph:”Don’t be distracted by the birth certificate and Indonesian issues. They are irrelevant to Senator Obama’s ineligibility to be President. Since Barack Obama’s father was a Citizen of Kenya, and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of Senator Obama’s birth, then Senator Obama was a British Citizen “at birth,” just like the Framers of the Constitution, and therefore, even if he were to produce an original birth certificate proving he were born on US soil, he still wouldn’t be eligible to be President.” Leo C. The fight now moves into the arena of our elected officials and Presidential Candidates as I am scheduled to meet with my State GOP Chairwoman on Friday and will call soon for that meeting with Rep. Price where I plan on giving him the short form (for those with ADD or jut short attention spans) evidence he will need to first initiate impeachment proceedings and then criminal charges against B. Soetoro aka Barack Obama. Holding out hope that Herman Cain will entertain a meeting as well and I’m working as fast as I can on that one. Can you imagine the leap in the polling numbers any candidate will get when he/she publicly announces they will be seeking his removal based on Cpnstitutional ineligibility? This will be my talk and hope it will give them incentive to be courageous.

Thank You Mr. Swensson!

As a citizen of Georgia and supporter of Dr. Tom Price, I am appalled. The ignorance of our Senators and House Representatives is stunning! Dr. Price is a fine man but there is no excuse for this level of ignorance! It appears that it is rampant in DC and our States.

If you are in his district I may be able to use your help with securing the meeting. He knows me but a request from a constituant never hurts…

They all know, they are pretending ignorance. I personally faxed several letters giving the definition of natural born citizen to every republican member of congress and senate (plus governors, lt. governors, attorneys general, secretaries of state, etc). in 2010 and again this year so Rep. Price has gotten them twice.

I’m quite certain that once this topic does see the light of day in the main stream media, there will be tremendous ‘push back’ from the opposition to try to argue that the term “natural born citizen” (NBC) is undefined, not well defined, or that there’s no universally accepted definition for it. Such arguments will no doubt be made, and I think it’s important to have an iron-clad response.

If or when that does happens, I’d suggest that the right response is to cite the Senate investigation that was conducted in 2008 in response to the New York Times challenge to John McCain’s NBC status, resulting in a Senate Resolution S511 on April 30, 2008, in which the Law of Nations definition of NBC (ie ‘birth in country, of citizen parents’) dating back to 1758 was, in effect re-affirmed.

I’m not a lawyer, but it seems to me that there could be no possible defense to the argument that the only definition of NBC that matters or is applicable in Barack Obama’s case is the definition that the 2008 Senate used in vetting John McCain. Stated another way, how could anyone justify using one NBC definition for John McCain and a different one for Barack Obama when they were both candidates for President in the SAME ELECTION?

I can’t BELIEVE Rep. Tom Price didn’t know what Natural Born meant! i wonder how many others in our gov’t are pretending not to know. I learned that in school!

You may be right about Mr. Tom Price as I have found many people totally ignorant of the
fact that “Natural Born” designates a higher standard than just citizen. However there is
no excuse for those vying for our votes and pretending to hold our Constitution in the
highest regard, or the radio and television commentators who make their living exuding
intelect and enlightenment while trying to convince us one after another forged birth
certificate put it all to rest.

I will not bother naming them, they know who they are as well as we do.

I think this is a good place to reveal this! All my 79 years of life I had assumed that I was a natural born citizen because my father immigrated in 1906 and I assumed he got naturalized after high school! Assume nothing! Recently I found his naturalization papers and was astounded to find he had fiddled around until 1940, just before the war to complete the process! I was born in 1932! So now I explain to my grandchildren how I would be president but my father messed up!
