DO THE REPUBLICANS CARE ABOUT ARTICLE II OF THE U.S. CONSTITUTION?

by JB Williams, ©2012

It is believed that Sen. Marco Rubio's parents were not naturalized U.S. citizens at the time of his birth

(Jun. 9, 2012) — Let me begin by saying that I really have nothing against Marco Rubio. Many of our nation’s immigrants make our best citizens, having experienced some form of socialism or communism in their home country and thrilled to live in the so-called land of the free and home of the brave.

I am not anti-immigration, the great-grandson of immigrants myself, albeit only legal immigrants.

But I am very much pro-rule of law and U.S. Constitution and like millions of other decent honest American citizens — I am fed up with corrupt federal politicians on both sides of the aisle acting like none of these things matter anymore.

It’s no secret that Barrack Hussein Obama is NOT a Natural Born Citizen of the United States, even though everyone in a position of power is pretending to not notice while working around the clock to alter the definition of the term via precedent.

Because Marco Rubio has a résumé almost as blank as Obama’s in terms of actual accomplishments, I must conclude that the primary interest in running Rubio on the ticket with Romney is nothing more than one more attempt to forever alter the definition of Natural Born Citizen.

Members of Congress have tried on at least eight occasions to officially alter the definition of Natural Born Citizen or eliminate the requirement from Article II of the Constitution altogether. All of those efforts failed. However, allowing a foreigner like Obama to hold the highest office in our land for one full term is setting a precedent that anyone from anywhere in the world can be president of the United States, and nobody in the United States is going to do anything about it. Putting another foreigner with dual or divided loyalties in the White House would seal the deal.

Marco was born a Cuban to two Cuban parents living in exile. Marco Rubio is NOT a Natural Born Citizen of the United States, although many of his Tea Party fans either don’t know or don’t care about that. No matter what else people may think or believe about Marco Rubio, justified by his accomplishments or not, he is NOT eligible for the office of president or vice president according to the U.S. Constitution.

Therefore, placing Rubio on the ballot with Romney for the 2012 election would cause a backlash from American Constitutionalists who know exactly what a Natural Born Citizen is and still want only Natural Born Citizens to hold the highest offices in our land, in accordance with Article II requirements.

Romney faces enormous challenges in overcoming the distinct Obama advantage in November. He will need every voter he can possibly muster and driving away constitutionalists already angry over the blatant disregard for our founding principles and values would end his bid for the White House, insuring the re-election of Barack Obama.

Rand Paul, libertarian son of libertarian candidate Ron Paul just endorsed Mitt Romney. If Ron Paul follows suit early enough to be a factor, well ahead of the GOP convention, this would signal party unity in opposition to the Obama-Clinton Regime headed into November. But Rick Santorum is promising to upset the GOP convention, keeping the door wide open for Obama.

Romney’s pick for VP will be a critical moment in the Romney campaign. He can only win with the right VP on the ticket with him, someone who completes him, fills his weaknesses. There are numerous good options available and I won’t speculate on that until a later column. However…

Marco Rubio may be a great person and even a great member of congress. He may even be able to hold other vital positions in a Republican Administration. What he isn’t is eligible for the White House, and after four years of unprecedented efforts to right the wrongs of 2008, constitutionally grounded voters simply will not tolerate an ineligible candidate on their own ticket.

Placing Rubio on the 2012 ballot, as one ineligible candidate running against another, would guarantee failure for the Romney campaign and likely destroy whatever political future Rubio might otherwise have. Placing an ineligible candidate on the GOP ticket is a sure way to cause a massive GOP defection in November.

Many are speculating that Romney was chosen as a sure loser to Obama to begin with. Placing Rubio on the ticket with him would only confirm those suspicions. Does Romney really want to win or not?

In the interest of removing the worst administration in U.S. history, we cannot join them in order to defeat them. We must offer voters an ethical and constitutional alternative to Obama and Clinton.

At the end of the day, there are only three legitimate reasons to place Marco Rubio on the ticket with Mitt Romney and neither of them is good.

  1. To forever eliminate Article II Natural Born Requirements for the office of President and Vice President.
  2. To pander for the illegal alien vote, who are not supposed to vote in the first place, but do.
  3. To place a second pro-amnesty foreigner in the White House, this time from the GOP.

There is no other reason to place Rubio on the ticket. There are no more accomplishments on Marco’s résumé than there is on Barack Obama’s. Neither is eligible or qualified.

People deeply concerned with the loss of their Constitutional Republic would boycott a ticket with Rubio on it, and they should. Do it and you can count on the re-election of Barack Hussein Obama.

Well said J.B.

Romney will lose as many votes from Constitutional Patriots as he gains from the Hispanic community so he gets no advantage. I hope my letter to Rubio, copied to the GOP, has at least been read. It was also published here and on PFA. For those who may not have seen it or taken the opportunity to copy it, I post it again below. I know also that I will not vote for any candidate for President or Vice President should he/she not be a “Natural Born Citizen”. Usually not being a single issue voter, I’m truely sorry if that helps Obama win once again, but it matters not what party, a patriots integrity is dependent on acting on the principle of honesty. I pray the Lord will intervene on our behalf should it be required. It really isn’t up to us anymore.

Dear Senator Rubio,

Something has been bothering me for awhile and when I heard you flub the answer to the VP question I decided to write you. No, I am not one of your constituents. I am unfortunately cursed with the representation of Senators Boxer and Feinstein and Representative Waxman. As with any elected official it is anticipated that they would represent all of us, however I have found very deaf ears.

Are you aware of the objective of the MSM as aligned with the DNC and possibly the GOP to use you to destroy this great country, I have heard you say, you love? Or is it on purpose that you allow them to speculate on your candidacy for VP? Jeb Bush, today, offered you up as Mitt Romney’s running mate. Many of us love our country as you do but are without voice to stop the progressives from stealing one of the greatest gifts God gave us beyond his son Jesus Christ. Also it seems the Tea Party phenomenon has not been as successful as we had hoped.

You may ask, how are you being used? From the point of view of many, there is an ineligible office holder in the White House. Constitutionally it can be confirmed, it takes two citizen parents when one is born to be a “natural born citizen” the main qualification. It is my understanding that your parents were not American citizens when you were born. All the obfuscation and ignoring this will not change the fact that either you or Obama is not qualified for the office of POTUS. Your name is constantly brought up as the VP candidate for whoever is chosen for the GOP. You seem, to many, to be extremely articulate and well educated which makes you really likable to the masses. What I find disturbing is that you do not address the issue of eligibility head on. The more your name is brought up or thrown into the ring the less anyone pays attention to what the Constitution says, just like 2008. A simple statement from you of “I’m not qualified under Article II, Section I, Clause V to be President or Vice President” would change the discourse and put an end to the candidacy of Barak Obama as he has yet to present any evidence that isn’t forged of his citizenship.

You will be used to destroy this country if you succumb to the pressure or the attraction of the fame & fortune of the office of Vice President by accepting the nomination. Twenty percent of the conservative voting bloc, in my estimation, will abstain from voting for another unqualified candidate. Do you think a Romney/Rubio ticket can win without that 20% of the vote? That 20% Sir will definitely insure the re-election of the current office holder, an unacceptable outcome for the 2012 election.

You Sir will have been used because you and others like you refuse to address the eligibility issue against the best interests of America. My hope for you and our country is that you stay in the Senate and become a force for change that takes that institution back to the stature it once had, one that truly honors the Constitution as written. We need people like you to bring the freedoms we have lost in my lifetime back for future generations to enjoy.

Sincerely,

Lloyd Carter

Message to Richard Viguerie, ConservativeHQ

Richard,

I heard your interview on Roger Hedgecock’s radio show today in San Diego when he asked you about VP candidates. When I heard you respond immediately with the names Jindal and Rubio, I was stunned and appalled.

You, of all people, should be clear about the definition of “natural born citizen” as specified in the 12th Amendment as a required qualification for VP. Since the fraudulent election of Barack Obama in 2008, an enormous amount of research has been done on this subject. It has been incontrovertibly established that NBC means “born in the country of two citizen parents”.

Neither Jindal nor Rubio are qualified, since they both had non-citizen parents at the time of birth in the U.S.

This is not the place to review the basis for the NBC definition, but Attorney Mario Apuzzo has published extensive documentation on his web site http://www.puzo1.blogspot.com, including thorough analysis of the Supreme Court decision in Minor v. Happersett confirming this meaning. Here is just one of his excellent articles:

http://puzo1.blogspot.com/2009/04/article-ii-natural-born-citizen-means.html

There is also a YouTube video of an excellent interview with Professor Herb Titus, a 30 year constitutional scholar, on the same subject:

“Natural Born Citizen Is One Born On Soil To Two Citizen Parents”

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swdQByQsp2g

Sir – it is simply inexcusable that a leading conservative figure such as yourself would be proposing constitutionally ineligible candidates for high office.

I would very much appreciate a response from you explaining how you can have such a misguided understanding of a most important provision of the United States Constitution, and retracting the statements you made to Mr. Hedgecock.

I can assure you sir that if an attempt is made to nominate an ineligible candidate for VP in 2012, there will be a massive outcry from millions of constitutionally-aware Americans who remain outraged and furious at the utter failure of the Republican Party to address the constitutional crisis brought on by the presence of an ineligible usurper in the White House. We do not intend to allow this to happen again.

I look forward to your prompt and substantive response.

Contrary to Rand Paul’s advocacy of Romney on June 7 (Romney is probably another ineligible candidate until proven otherwise), Ron Paul remains the only candidate with the two major parties who is both eligible and electable. In fact, Paul’s reception at the Texas State Republican Convention on June 7 shows us once again he is the candidate to beat.

JB’s points about the various attempts at destroying Article 2 requirements for a president are quite valid, and provide an even greater argument for closely looking at every candidate who is running, including Romney.

So, when, exactly, do we address the subject of natural born citizenship on a broad and public basis for all candidates in the state and federal elections and appointments, focusing on those individuals applying for POTUS or any position in the line of succession for the POTUS?
