Sen. Joseph McCarthy

Sen. Joseph McCarthy grew up on a farm in Wisconsin. He served in the Marines during World War II, earned a law degree, served as a judge, and was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1946. He died during his second term in the Senate at age 49.
