“THE CONSTITUTION FIRST AND FOREMOST”

October 25, 2013

Is the Republican Party “satisfied with the status quo?” Will it change to meet the demands of those placing the Constitution above politics and power?

Dr, Ralph Reed (Faith & Freedom Coalition)
Reince Prebus (RNC Chairman)
Rep. John Boehner (Speaker of the House of Representatives)
Sen. Mitch McConnell (Senate Republican Leader)

Dear Sirs,

I thought I would share with you an article I think clearly shows what is wrong with the GOP. You will probably agree with a lot of what Ms. Reinhard has to say; however there are many of us who, being conservative, feel and have felt for a long time the GOP has become nothing but kin of the Democrats where nothing is resolved and the game of the day is “sibling rivalry” which, more often than not, becomes the Democrat agenda where the beneficiary is the government, not the American citizen.

I receive GOP, RNC, National Republican Senatorial Committee and other surveys which now include the “Faith & Freedom Coalition,” all the time.

When I submit them they are apparently not read because of the fact that I never receive concurrence or rebuttal from the originator of the survey. Usually, the questions are so generic anyone could agree with the agenda presented in the survey. I usually write my own questions or answers on the surveys and because I never see recognition in the direction of the particular organization, I know that the survey is not read or considered. The only reason for the survey is the donation requested.

At 72 years of age, in good health, it is my hope and prayer that I see a new Party that puts the Constitution first and foremost before the good Lord says it is time to leave this corrupt world. I believe if the establishment/elite GOP does not change its direction it will become as extinct as the dinosaur. Many examples like the Obamacare bill are evident as Congress does not care enough about their oath to read the legislation before they bring it up for a vote. It is evident from the size of Congress’ Staff that they have nothing but surrogate writers and readers that have not been elected to do the work Congress was sent to perform.

You will read in the follow a Representative from Ohio, Steve Le Tourette, make this statement: “We’re going to be very aggressive and we’re going to get in their faces.” and GOP consultant John Feehery, who has advised top Republican leaders on Capitol Hill. “We can’t just lie down and let this happen.” Where was this kind of rhetoric against Democrats?

Do you think, as I and others do, they are just out for themselves?

When will you all, the elite of the GOP, become aggressive with the Democrats rather than eating your own?

Do you have a plan to include the Tea Party as you seem to want a bigger tent that includes many who do not think like you or me?

Do you think the Constitution is no longer applicable?

Do you think that oath taken by all Government officials means nothing any longer?

Do you condone treason?

You will also read many arguments posited as to why the Tea Party candidates are not qualified to run but if you look at who makes the argument I think you will find people who are just like yourself, satisfied with the status-quo, let the Democrats win to save your place at the table, to hell with the people who either elected you or is the reason you have a job, to hell with the Constitution.

I am not a Tea Party person but maybe I should be because I tend to agree with what I hear and read. If there was a Constitutional Conservative Party I would be its first member. You may not realize that the Republican Party is going the way of the “Edsel” as you lose lifetime Republicans which I believe you are doing.  Don’t you think it is dangerous to the Republican Party to have millions of politically homeless citizens who will jump at the chance to support a true conservative?

Sincerely,

Lloyd Carter

Messy but Moneyed Republican Plan to Neutralize the Tea Party

By Beth Reinhard

October 24, 2013

The business-friendly GOP establishment is putting its cash to work in skirmishes across the country that might reshape the 2014 elections.

It took a tea-party insurrection that disabled the federal government and wrecked the Republican brand, but after months of handwringing, establishment Republicans are preparing to attack ultraconservative ideologues across red America.

  1. The Republican Party is getting the message as conservatives enrolled in the party, to the man and woman, are REFUSING donations to the Republican National Committee telling them they are giving money to the TEA PARTY. This has incurred the ire of the elite in D.C, who, like OBAMA, never assume the responsibility on their part for having denigrated the Party themselves. Dissatisfied Democrats should take notes from dissatisfied Republicans. While THEY may plan on staying on the plantation, conservative Republicans know they were BORN Free and intend to STAY FREE. They will NOT allow Obama or McCain either rule the roost like a tyrant. They both may think the Constitution is a minor obstacle to jump over, but they forget that the Mayflower Compact set the tone for the USA. Our Pilgrim forebears regard us from above and see the danger to the Republic.

  2. To me, it sounds as if the Republican Party is no longer satisfied with just shooting itself in the foot. Now, they insist on aiming for the whole body using higher power weapons, like Howitzers.

I’ll vote as an Independent and my candidate selections will be those which least resemble a Democrat. That will also omit those Republicans who seem intent on identifying with Democrats.

Do I sound like a Ted Cruz fan? I sure hope so.
