Circa Says Hannity “Promoted Now Debunked Conspiracy Theory”

(Jun. 2, 2017) — The news source “Circa,” whose reporters John Solomon and Sara Carter are frequent guests on the Fox News Channel’s “Hannity” show, reported on Wednesday that when host Sean Hannity recently spoke about the unsolved murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich last July, he was “promoting a now debunked conspiracy theory.”

The paper also reported that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been living in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for the past three years, although it has been close to five years.

The Circa article contains no byline and focuses on Hannity’s invitation to Assange to guest-host his radio show, presumably in the near future.

On May 30, Assange floated the idea on Twitter of launching his own radio program from within the embassy, where he sought refuge after Sweden issued its intent to extradite him for questioning in an investigation which has now been abandoned.  Assange is wanted by the U.S. Department of Justice and could be extradited to the U.S. if he were to leave the embassy.

“The Fox News host traveled to London to interview Assange, where he remains holed up in Ecuador’s embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden,” the Circa article incorrectly reported.  It is extradition to the U.S. which Assange wishes to avoid.

The pair also promoted a now debunked conspiracy theory involving the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich. Hannity claimed Rich was assassinated after providing documents to Wikileaks.

Hannity stood by his claims despite conclusions made by law enforcement officials that Rich was the victim of a botched robbery.

Hannity did not claim that Rich was “assassinated after providing documents to Wikileaks.”  Rather, he indicated that he would continue to investigate the evidence revealed by Fox News contributor and former detective Rod Wheeler, who was hired by a third party for the Rich family to conduct a parallel investigation to that of the DC Metro Police, who have been silent on the progress of their probe.

Hannity was excoriated by the mainstream media for stating that he would pursue the truth about the case, including after he agreed to respect the family’s wishes and not discuss it on his FNC program.

Hannity’s radio program airs independently of FNC from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. ET during the week.

It has been reported, although only in secondary media, that an associate of Assange’s, Kim Dotcom of New Zealand, has said that he possesses evidence that Rich was WikiLeaks’ source of more than 44,000 emails from the DNC’s servers.  Hannity also invited Dotcom to guest-host his show this week, as with Assange.

Dotcom has offered, through his attorneys, to travel to the U.S. to testify to Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller, III, who is overseeing the FBI’s investigation into alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election.  Dotcom is himself facing extradition to the U.S. on a copyright-infringement charge while maintaining his innocence.

“I knew Seth Rich.  I know he was the @Wikileaks source.  I was involved,” Dotcom tweeted on May 20, which garnered Hannity’s attention.

The term “debunked” has been applied to the claim that Rich was in touch with WikiLeaks, although no one has definitively proved it inaccurate.

Circa has broken a number of exclusive stories based on documents released from government sources, including the secretive FISA court, showing that the Obama regime illegally searched for certain Americans’ names in intelligence documents in violation of federal law.

“It remains unclear just how genuine Hannity was when he proposed the media collaboration to Assange,” the nameless authors wrote in their final paragraph.
