“THE RIGHT LEADERSHIP”

by Dr. Thomas E. Davis, Col. USA (Ret.), ©2016

(Apr. 9, 2016) — First, let’s just point out who is NOT qualified and why. Ted Cruz has no experience leading even a Boy Scout Troop, a squad of military recruits policing up around their billeting area and for damned sure no military position requiring leadership ability. He has even less than Barry Soetoro-Obama! John Kasich is bought-and-paid-for by the Republican establishment and George Soros.

Bernie Sanders has a lifetime record of doing exactly NOTHING but running for some office or other and is an admitted Socialist, which we need like another Obama, Carter or Harding.  AND, then we are unfortunate to have in our midst a foul-mouthed, lying, ex-hippie, as-yet un-convicted felon and low-life who had the audacity to exclaim before a Congressional Committee, “At this point, what difference does it (the unnecessary murder of four Americans) make?”

So, who is left? Not surprisingly, we fortunately have an extremely successful, well-educated, hard-nosed, “Just-get-it-done-PROPERLY,” self-made, unselfish, problem-solving businessman. The political establishment, power-hungry liars, cheats and abysmally corrupt party and union bosses are rightfully frightened of Mr. Donald J. Trump. He is incorruptible, not receptive to the usual threats and bribery or payoffs from big business.

If I read the political barometer correctly, I anticipate the end of party politics which were so abhorrent to the Founding Fathers. With President Donald J. Trump in the Oval Office leading rather than pontificating, either the 115th Congress begins to function ethically, responsibly and constitutionally or the President will demand an Article V Convention of States (COS) be called. We the People are prepared to offer appropriate amendments to our inestimable constitution to return it to the standard and language set by the Founders in 1787 establishing a federalist/republican-democratic form of government. If this appears to be a conflicting description, allow me to explain.” Federalism is a type of government in which the power is divided between the national government and other governmental units. It contrasts with a unitary government, in which a central authority holds the power, and a confederation, in which states, for example, are clearly dominant.”

Federalism is uniquely an American system devised by our Founders in 1787 who intended for the central government to be powerful enough to defend against encroachment by foreign powers and also strong enough to prevent individual components, such as states, from seceding as was the case during the Civil War. The very notion of federalism was contrary to the European system of monarchical government.

Coupled with Federalism was the ancient ideal of Republicanism which evolved over several centuries from the Greek philosopher Plato right up through our Founders, who were well-read in the writings of Plato, Aristotle and Marcus Tullius Cicero, a Roman philosopher, politician, lawyer, orator, political theorist, consul, and constitutionalist who appeared to be a favorite of many of the founders.

The beauty of republicanism is in its concrete foundation set forth in its four tenets of Virtue, Property, the Right to Defend and Fear of Power. Virtue seems to be the most difficult for the mind of modern humans to grasp and fully understand. Virtue consists of but few ideals of decent human conduct.  Our under-compensated and less-than-properly-thanked combat veterans demonstrate the one virtue that separates them from all the rest: “The willingness to lay down one’s life for one’s beliefs.”

Our cynical lives are antithetical to other components of ‘Virtue,’ including duty, mercy, loyalty and justice.  Our behavior belies us on a daily basis as a nation purportedly in tune with a Judeo-Christian code of ethical behavior. Though a vast majority of Americans correctly and rightly believe that marriage is virtuous and holy only when it is consummated between One Man who, symbolic of Jesus Christ, marries a woman, symbolic of His Church. KJV Ephesians 5: 1-33. And, what does the Bible say regarding homosexuality?

“In Gen 19:24-28, the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah is described. The apostle Peter explains that this unique judgment upon these two cities was to serve as an example:

“and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;” (2Pe 2:6)

Why was Sodom and Gomorrah chosen to be an example of God’s ultimate judgment upon the ungodly? What were they doing that made them so different from other ungodly cities at that time? Here is what Abraham was told:

“And the LORD said, ‘Because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous,” (Gen 18:20)

In the intervening 228 years since our 55 Founding Fathers (those who conceived of and delivered our magnificent Constitution), this God-inspired Republic, grown to 50 states, has undergone a plethora of equivocal and, YES, far too much illegal, unconstitutional and overtly criminal government. The chief or leading culprit is and has been Party Politics with its graft, racketeering, overt corruption, nepotism, outright theft, bribery and the immoral behavior of those WE have so carelessly elected and oftentimes, re-elected. Examples right now being, Barry Soetoro-Obama, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Dick Durbin, Charles Schumer, Joe Biden, Paul Ryan, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Nancy Pelosi and an impeached former District Judge, Florida Representative Alcee Hastings, whose impeachment is not even mentioned on this Official US House website:  DISGRACEFUL! and DECEPTIVE!

No segment of our government, federal, state, county, parish or city, is immune to the rampant disease of Party Politics. Few ever feel the sting of judicial punishment, ethics violations, or rejection at the polls, and WE the People are advised when writing to members of the establishment to address them as the “Honorable” so and so. Why? They are, by and large, NOT ‘Honorable.’  Rather, far too many are downright DISHONORABLE!

Now that I have dispensed some rather unpleasant truths, I should like to end on a more pleasant and refreshing note:  our next President!

There is but one truly qualified candidate left in this idiotic fiasco known as a political campaign. That is, without a doubt, Mr. Donald J. Trump. Sure, he IS brash; that is learned in the school of hard-headed business dealings. Is he egotistical? Hell, NO! Is he forthright? Oh, yeah! Mr. Trump tells it like it is, NOT as YOU would like to hear it. Does he keep his word? Again, Oh Yeah! He has done so for years. Is he intelligent? You bet your bottom dollar he is. Is he smart? Yes, most of the time! Will President Trump be good for America? Absolutely! Not since Harry Truman held the reins of office has there been an honest, tell-it-like-it is grown up MAN ready to kick some b*** and get ’er done pronto and right.

When Candidate Trump says “Let’s Make America Great Again,” he means just that with one major implication.  We were great at many different stages of our existence, but the idiots in charge failed to follow good, sound business practices, took a little for themselves and their friends and political cronies (the Spoils or Patronage System) left over from the Seventh (Jackson) administration and enlarged upon by succeeding Chief Executives and their respective Congresses. Will a President Trump be good for America? O, ye of little faith, Other than the departed Carly Fiorina, who was almost Donald’s equal in political savvy, he is without doubt the best offer on the table; so, we take that offer at face value and build on it.

How will he manage to get anything done with a virtually similar Congress, the 115th, in place? Mr. Trump has vast experience in managing personnel. The 115th Congress is made up of people. They are manageable under the right leadership. The President sets the targets of his administration. He suggests, sometimes forcefully, goals to be attained and with a legislative body, he might suggest specific legislation he would like to see on his desk ASAP. Real leaders, like Donald Trump, have a way of getting their message across to equals as well as subordinates. For example, Mr. Trump is fully and even acutely aware that our tax laws are horrendous and the IRS and our Fiscal matters are equally bad. President Trump: To the Leadership of the 115th Congress: “I should like to see on my desk in the next two to three weeks appropriate legislation to:

  • Repeal the 16th Amendment
  • Revamp the Tax Code
  • Eliminate the IRS
  • Balance the Budget.”

Should the 115th Congress not comply, I suspect President Trump would respond with an order to immediately call an Article V Convention of States.

Dear Colonel,
Agree with you 110%.
When I ran for president in 2012, I made it perfectly clear that I would not accept one red cent as a donation and if anyone wanted to toss money my way give it to the USO instead (or some other charity).
Rather than make money as Donald J. Trump did, I spent my life in libraries and reading, besides living all over this country and working at many varied occupations.
I am an Honorably Discharged Veteran and had the misfortune to have to literally fight for my life on a few occasions while serving my country. Thinking back on it, in each conflict knives were directly involved, which gives you an indication how close and personal the fighting was. Not my choice: just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. It happens.
The cost was high: divorces, booze and drugs and 17 years of nightmares. However, for approaching 20 years since I cast my daemons aside, I remain true – finally – to my promise to Jesus Christ when I prayed, “If I get out of this alive I’ll live a righteous life”. My delivery was delayed but, nonetheless, the promise was kept.
I am part American Indian and these sleazy pundits who try and sell their lies in the mainstream – FOX NEWS, et al – reminds me of forked tongues.
The only thing I would ad to your editorial is something unlikely to happen: audit the Federal Reserve Bank, and make the findings public.
Part of my platform was to go in, get the job done (fix America), and get out. Not one millisecond spent on any reelection nonsense; golf games; or vacations.
My VP – Larry Meyer, sadly, diseased – was on the same page as I in serving our country: work for $1 a year and let them keep the perks and legacies.
Good editorial; thanks for writing it.
Sincerely,
