DOES THE MEDIA “FEAR” A TRUMP NOMINATION?

by Sharon Rondeau

(Jan. 26, 2016) — On Twitter and on Fox News’s “The Kelly File” on Tuesday evening, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council (FRC) endorsed Sen. Ted Cruz for president.

Cruz is running second in most polls to Donald Trump.  Both are campaigning in Iowa in advance of the caucuses which begin on Monday, the first in the nation.

Perkins served in the Louisiana legislature for two terms and is a former U.S. Marine.  He is an ordained minister and a frequent guest on mainstream media programs speaking on pro-life and family issues.

Following Perkins’ appearance on her show, Kelly tweeted his announcement, which drew support from Fox News contributor Carrie Sheffield.

Also on Tuesday evening, presidential candidate Donald Trump announced that he would not participate in a Republican debate moderated by three Fox News anchors, including Kelly.  His written statement appears among Perkins’ and Kelly’s tweets.

The Washington Post first reported that Trump had decided to withdraw from the debate and would host an independent event in Iowa.

Trump has indicated that he believes Kelly is biased against him beginning with the first Republican presidential debate on August 6, during which Kelly appeared to critics to ask certain questions aimed specifically at Trump and no one else.

Fox News CEO and Chairman Roger Ailes stood behind Kelly’s moderating of Thursday’s debate, stating that she “is an excellent journalist.”

Following the first debate, Kelly defended herself by stating that she had conducted “good journalism” and did not apologize.  She did, however, take a two-week vacation which some said was not planned in advance.

On Monday, a spokesman for Fox News said that Trump was demonstrating “fear” of Kelly.

The Tuesday night Trump statement, posted on Twitter and written in the third person, reads, in part, “Mr. Trump knows a bad deal when he sees one…Unlike the very stupid, highly incompetent people running our country into the ground, Mr. Trump knows when to walk away.”

The statement concludes by saying that Trump will host a veterans’ event in place of taking part in the debate.

In 2011, Trump publicly called upon Barack Hussein Obama to release his “long-form” birth certificate, resulting in the posting of a “computer-generated forgery” on April 27 of that year which the media has refused to discuss.

According to the lead investigator of the Maricopa County Cold Case Posse, which launched an investigation into the birth certificate image in September 2011, members of the media have been threatened by as-yet unnamed Obama regime operatives not to delve into Obama’s background or report on the posse’s findings, announced in two 2012 press conferences which major media did not carry.

Obama’s Selective Service registration form was also declared fraudulent by the investigative team.

According to radio host Carl Gallups on Tuesday morning on the Bill Martinez Live show, Maricopa County Sheriff Joseph Arpaio, who commissioned the probe in response to constituents’ requests, is planning to announce further developments in the case “sooner rather than later.”

Cruz, who was born in Canada to a non-U.S.-citizen father, is facing eligibility lawsuits from citizens and attorneys, including another Republican candidate from New Hampshire.  Thus far, prominent law professors have opined that Cruz is and is not eligible under the “natural born Citizen” requirement contained in Article II, Section 1, clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.

In Iowa early Tuesday evening, Arpaio endorsed Trump’s candidacy for president.
