Although Local Alabama news programs were nice about the stance Judge Moore, Supreme Court Justice of Alabama has taken in the battle to not marry same sex, there is not a news report that shows that the number of supporters for Judge Moore superseded those against his same sex policies.
Tennessee Family Action Council’s David Fowler is advocating to have Judge Moore removed from office for him stopping state probate judges to cease the issuing of marriage licenses to same-sex couples until the state Supreme Court decides how to apply Obergefell v. Hodges to its state’s marriage license laws.
Conservative Christians are uniting to fight back and support Judge Moore, coming together at the State Capitol on Tuesday, January 12, 2016! On Wednesday, Jan. 6, Judge Moore released a statement that reads: “Until further decision by the Alabama Supreme Court, the existing orders of the Alabama Supreme Court that Alabama probate judges have a ministerial duty not to license contrary to the Alabama Sanctity of Marriage Amendment or the Alabama Marriage Protection Act remain in full force and effect,” Moore wrote. In response to Judge Moore’s order, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton issued a statement that same night saying: “Marriage equality is now the law of the land – including in Alabama,” Clinton said. “Today’s unconstitutional order reminds us that, despite the Supreme Court’s ruling that all Americans have the right to marry the person they love, our work is far from over. There are still judges who are determined to stand in the way of people’s rights.”
This fight against Judge Moore cannot be Alabama’s alone; the Country needs to be with him and the people of Alabama, as was the case Tuesday. There were more supporters for Judge Roy Moore than for the same sex marriage side at the Courthouse steps.
