“NOT FIT TO CONTINUE TO SERVE”

(Sep. 10, 2015) — The below-listed analysis details how Obama acted without the “consent of the governed” in his approval of the International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement. The analysis was presented in a speech on the floor of the House by an endorsed and elected Combat Veterans For Congress, Congressman Steve Russell, LTC-USA (Ret) on Tuesday, September 8th. He outlines how over the last 37 years, Iran-sponsored terrorist attacks on Americans resulted in murderous strikes against United States facilities and US allies, and how the current ongoing actions by Iran in killing Americans in Afghanistan and elsewhere are unlikely to change. Cong. Russell discussed how Obama has gone much farther than by just urging Congress not to oppose his International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement; Cong. Russell is convinced that Obama does not have the constitutional authority to approve the very dangerous International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement nor to send $150 billion to Iran without the consent of the governed. Yet Obama is planning on doing it anyway—just as he has continued to act unlawfully in violation of US laws signed by previous US Presidents in violation of the US Constitution and federal immigration laws. The power of the United States rests in the U.S. Constitution, with the people, and in the States themselves, which have the power to continue to uphold the existing and necessary sanctions against the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, the lawless Iranian Terrorist Regime.
Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, along with the Attorney General of Michigan, Bill Schuette, has sent a letter to all 50 Governors. explaining that the States are indeed not bound by the Obama’s administration’s agreement with Iran, while 15 Governors have signed a letter to Obama detailing that “These state-level sanctions are critically important and must be maintained.”
Congressman Russell said in the well of the House, “The President has acted without the consent of the people. Therefore, the people, through their duly elected Representatives, will now act without the consent of the President. Article I, Section 8, of the United States Constitution, a document I have defended since I was 18, states that the power to regulate commerce with foreign nations rests in the Congress of these United States. Article II, Section 2, states that the President can only make a binding treaty with a foreign nation upon two-thirds consent with the Senate. Mr. Speaker, the President states that this is not a treaty. We agree. And, therefore, Constitutionally, we are not bound to abide by it. Neither are the States. The Supremacy Clause does not apply here. It is not a treaty. Not having the effect of treaty law, the States are free to act. And today they are and will. And we will.”
Although 79% of all Americans oppose the dangerous Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement, 41 Democrat Senators are knowingly putting the US in the most dangerous situation it has ever been in——they are putting the US in the nuclear crosshairs of the largest state sponsor of terrorism in the world, a country that for the last 37 years has been murdering and maiming for life thousands of Americans, more Americans than all the other terrorist groups in the world combined. Iran is a country whose leader states regularly that he intends to destroy Israel and The Great Satan (the United States). Obama has demonstrated that he and 41 Democratic Senators are now in league with the mortal enemy of the United States—those 41 Democratic Senators and Obama should be reclassified as domestic enemies of the United States.
The nation wouldn’t be in the most dangerous situation in its history if Senator Bob Corker (R-TN), Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, hadn’t suggested to Obama that he submit the Iranian Nuclear Weapons Treaty as a Senate Bill, instead of as a Senate Treaty, so if it were rejected by the Senate, Obama could have vetoed the rejection, and the Senate would then have needed a two-thirdsvote to override Obama’s veto—that is where it is today. Had Senate Majority Leader McConnell done his job and prevented Obama from structuring an International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Treaty as a Bill, which McConnell could have refused to bring up because it was a Treaty and not a Bill, then passage would have required two-thirds of the Senate to approve it—-not two-thirdsto disapprove it. The U.S. Constitution requires a two-thirdsvote of the Senate to approve any International Treaty, which is exactly what the International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement is.
Unfortunately, Boehner and McConnell have been working hand-in-glove with Obama to allowed the International Iranian Nuclear Weapons Treaty to be brought up in the Senate as a Bill instead of as an International Treaty, then they provided funding to cover the cost of amnesty for 5 million illegal aliens, permitting Obama to violate US immigration laws. They refused to close the wide-open southern border, despite the fact that the border wall was funded by previous Congresses, and helped Obama pass the unconstitutional TPA Bill that allows Obama to secretly negotiate Fast Track Trade Promotion Treaty (TPP) with 12 Pacific Rim nations. The TPP eliminates US sovereignty in favor of International Tribunals and allows for millions of illegal aliens from 50 nations to enter the US to compete with US workers for scarce jobs (to date no American has been allowed to read the SECRET 800-page TPP).
In 2014, they were elected to rein in the out-of-control spending by an irresponsible Congress to prevent the hollowing-out of the US Armed Forces, to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, to replace the flawed Obamacare law with a medical system that works, to close the wide-open southern border, to stop Obama’s violation of the US Constitution and US immigration laws, to reduce very heavy taxation without representation, and to cut back the cost of a bloated bureaucracy by preventing the massive fraud, waste, and abuse in government, instead of increasing the national debt year after year.
The primary responsibility of every American President elected over the last 239 years has been to protect and defend the lives of every American citizen. Unfortunately, the extremely dangerous Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement entered into by the occupant in the Oval Office is threatening the very lives of the children and grandchildren of every American. By acting without the consent of the governed to approve the dangerous Iranian Nuclear Weapons Agreement, and by doing so, disregarding the safety of the American people, Obama has demonstrated that he is not fit to continue to serve in the office he was elected to.
