“FREEDOM OF CHOICE”

Obamacare premiums are expected to increase by double digits next year. The U.S. Supreme Court is currently considering whether or not health care subsidies provided through the federal exchange at Healthcare.gov are lawful given that the wording in the statute passed in 2010 refers to exchanges “run by the state.”

(Jun. 3, 2015) — Now that the big insurance companies selling healthcare plans under Obamacare have requested large premium increases for 2016, one medical co-op called 100% Healthcare Now will more than likely be emerge as a front runner for many Americans looking to find affordable healthcare in an effort to save money. Ruth Bryant White, who started 100% Healthcare Now about 9 years ago (it was then known as the Alexander McGee Medical Co-Op Foundation then but has undergone a name change), saw the direction where medical coverage was headed in the United States and says this is the perfect time for the co-op to take off.

“I saw people were going to be gouged in the future if we didn’t have something in place that could save companies and individuals from the high cost of healthcare, and here we are. Maybe, we were ahead of our time (9 years ago) so people didn’t see the alarm signs. Now they do,” said White.

Already, both individuals and some business are looking into 100% Healthcare Now as well as an alternative to their healthcare and have begun signing up. Nohl Rosen, a business owner from Phoenix, Arizona was one of the first people in the country to sign up for membership and says freedom of choice besides wanting to save money were a couple of his reasons for doing so.

“As an individual and as a business owner I refused to sign up for Obamacare. In my opinion, it’s a train wreck and the healthcare plans they have listed just simply aren’t affordable, so I chose to join a co-op instead. For me, medical co-ops are the better option because it was the way healthcare was handled in this country before insurance companies ever existed and before the government got involved in the medical insurance business. I for one didn’t like government dictating my healthcare choices and certainly didn’t want them decided by an insurance company which is why I opted for a medical co-op instead. With a co-op I can decide which doctors I can go to for my medical care and definitely keep my health plan,” Rosen said.

100% Healthcare Now is gaining favor amongst a few notable people including Tea Party Express member and conservative Lloyd Marcus, Knock out Arizona voter District Leader, Kuuleme Stephens, and independent movie producer CL Bryant. But it isn’t just the savings to employers and individuals that’s a benefit. White quickly pointed out that the co-op could also create jobs as well because additional personnel will be needed to sell memberships as it grows.
