DOES SOCIALISM BRING SUCCESS?

by OPOVV, ©2015

(May 20, 2015) — Wherever there has been an uninterrupted supply of fresh water, civilizations have flourished. Conversely, wherever people have soiled their cages people moved on. It’s ironic that people would voluntarily inhabit New Orleans when just a few years ago, after flooding during hurricane Katrina, the water was so polluted as to cause burns and, if drunk, death.

The might of Industrial America has spewed so many chemicals in the air as to render lakes in Norway a virtual acid bath. Now isn’t it telling that, even though we know we’re soiling our water and air, we look the other way, as if not mentioning the obvious pardons our stupidity?

Avoiding, or refusing, to call attention to a dangerous situation may be looked upon favorably by some, but, all in all, it’s a sure-fire method of spreading doom and destruction. The Killer Bees are outside; the Fire Ants are at your door; and Muslims are in your schools and workplace, in your stores and parks.

That there are more ignorant people than enlightened ones is a given. The reality of self-governing is the most dangerous foe of any political and religious system that is based on, you guessed it, ignorance. So what, really, is ignorance? What is the common denominator of ignorance throughout the ages?

We’ve all heard the saying, “If it’s too good to be true, it is.” We’re talking about getting something for nothing, which is an impossibility. Just as Newton postulated “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction,” and Einstein’s “energy cannot be created or destroyed; it can only be changed from one form or another,” there are no “freebies” in life because somebody, somewhere, at some time, has to pay for it. Food Stamps aren’t free: the farmer must be paid, the livestock taken care of through transportation, feed, veterinary and processing costs.

There’s no “free ride” for anything, so there goes any argument for Socialism. The United States’ reliance on Welfare to regulate a segment of the population’s reliance on Uncle Sam for subsistence is not by accident. The teachers’ union’s inability to teach the inner city kids the three Rs and to speak proper English is, as with the Welfare system, not by accident. The emergence of the Nation of Islam is also not by accident. It’s easy to indoctrinate ignorant people into whatever you want them to believe and teach that they are unable to control their own destiny if they believe that they are losers through no fault of their own. Couple the above examples with the majority of the professors who are sequestered in academia and you have the perfect recipe for the teaching of a belief system that has no basis in fact.

The fact is, Socialism doesn’t work, and no amount of sugar-coating “something-for-nothing” is going to change the “unsustainable,” except for those who are on the taking end rather than the supporting end of the social spectrum. What does this mean? It means that those who are at the bottom of the social spectrum will remain on the bottom. The solution? Educate people to think and reason and not take the word of a government that sustains its existence through reliance and outright lies.

No, the “Nation of Islam,” Islam, Socialism, and a life of Welfare and Food Stamps as a one-way ticket to a life of ignorance is not the solution to improve one’s life. Education is the key, and the key lies within. There are no shortcuts to success, but the rewards are worth it in becoming your own person by not having to rely on others in telling you what to believe and what to think.

Proverbs 4:7 “with wisdom, get understanding”. Being educated makes you educated; it doesn’t necessarily make you smart. Especially if you went to a public (i.e., government) school. Have Americans become incapable of learning? It sure seems that way.

Here’s my take on it: what the Constitution accomplished was to make it possible to create and then share with everyone access to any information available to the public.
The books in the Harvard library are EXACTLY the same books of any library in Alaska or in an Appalachian holler.
And that’s what America is all about: to give everybody, men AND women of ANY religion or ethnicity, free and unencumbered access to any and all available knowledge out there.
The reason why the United States has a military is to protect our libraries within the defined borders which make-up the physical part of America.
America.
Unwittingly, America has exported the IDEA of free access to information which is the death knell to any dictator or Totalitarian State, which is why Islamic States, for instance, have declared the US the “Great Satan”.
“Knowledge will set you free.” Conversely, lack of knowledge will keep one in chains, figuratively and literally.
