WILL YOU RISE TO THE OCCASION?

(Oct. 30, 2014) — A good argument can be made that America has been on a downward slide since the middle of the 20th century. Thanks to people like Lyndon B. Johnson, who robbed churches of their political voice with the 1954 Johnson Amendment; and Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood who fought for the legalization of abortion and her cohort Mary Calderone of SIECUS, America’s spiritual and moral decline escalated without much opposition. The problems that resulted and their root causes are now a part of America’s historical record. Those who choose to evaluate the causes of our downward spiral will find many benefactors of evil in addition to the ones named that legitimately deserve blame. But when push comes to shove, the fault of our decline is not resting squarely on the shoulders on the man now occupying the White House or his evil predecessors. It rests on ours.
Of course there have been many villains in the battle to destroy America and through the years there have been many heroes as well. For the most part, these heroes fought valiantly but they fought with an army substantially smaller than the times demanded. And if the truth be told, with all we have suffered as a nation, it is only by the grace of God that we are still standing. But God requires more of a people He has blessed and who believe they are called according to His will. He requires they stand strong in the face of adversity. He requires that they overcome. And my dear friends and patriots, that’s where we as a people have failed. We have failed to stand in unison and say NO to the powers that would rob us of our liberties and reduce this nation to a godless society. If you search the Holy Scriptures and the course of the Great Awakenings in America, you will find that the battles for the soul of America were first fought in the heavenly realm but then they manifested in the physical realm. AND…the same people who fought on their knees rose to take a stand. Today it seems that We the People have been lulled into a hectic lifestyle that is anesthetized with entertainment – leaving little time for introspection and less time to stand against the assaults on God’s nation. If we are to survive, that must change. The good news is that it is changing.
We the People of these United States have created an online petition to be circulated nationwide that has been designed to unite our voices to say NO to the Administration’s intolerable decision to send our troops to Ebola-infected regions. Of course there are other atrocities that need to be and should be addressed, but this is one that is urgent and can be the first in hopefully a new movement: a movement by We the People to take back America and take away the power of Mr. Obama’s pen. The purpose of the petition campaign is to flood the halls of Congress with both hard-copy petitions that strongly reflect the voice of the American people; online petitions that will provide a rough count of how many voices have risen in harmony; and faxes that will obnoxiously insist that our voices be heard. It will give us an all-important and much-needed mechanism to say NO to the absurd assaults on our liberties and our Constitution.
In order to accomplish this goal, the American people 13 years old and older are being asked to go to the Facebook page Troops for Defense Only. There you will find instructions and more information and you will be asked to do four things:
1. Sign the online petition that will send you to the following link: (http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/troops-for-defense-only.html)
2. Download a hard copy of the petition that will be available on the Facebook page and TPATH with instructions to send it directly to Speaker of the House John Boehner at his office in the Capitol building. If enough petitions are sent, this alone should create quite a stir and make it impossible for the voice of the American people not to be heard. Just imagine the halls of Congress being filled with stacks of petitions representing the voices of Americans – and in an election year besides!
3. Fax the Speaker the downloaded copy of the petition. This will burn up his fax lines and once again demand that he and members of Congress pay attention to the petitions.
4. “Like” the page and share it with just about everyone you know – through social media, your personal databases, your churches, and just about every organization you know of and are a part of.
This petition campaign is more than a petition drive; it marks the birth of a new movement: a movement where the American people have stood in unison to say NO to the insanity we are seeing in the Administration and in Congress. However, it needs to have as extensive a reach as humanly possible to come to fruition. Somehow we have failed to realize the power we still have when we unite our voices, and today we can do that quite easily through our social networking and personal contacts.
My dear friends, patriots, and Christian brothers and sisters, it’s time to save America. Will you rise to the occasion?

I certainly applaud your efforts, but I certainly also believe the government we now have no longer listens to the people. It has become an entity unto itself, not one “of, by and for”.
