“UNBELIEVABLE”

by Sharon Rondeau

Sen. Pat Toomey was elected to the U.S. Senate in November 2010. He served three terms in the House of Representatives from 1999-2005.

(Mar. 24, 2014) — On Sunday, The Post & Email published a press release from Col. Harry Riley (Ret.), the founder of Operation American Spring (OAS), which plans to converge on Washington, DC beginning on May 16 to send a message to Barack Obama, Speaker of the House John Boehner, putative Attorney General Eric Holder, and others to resign their posts to make way for the restoration of constitutional governance by the American people.

The Post & Email conducted one of the first, if not the very first, interview with Riley after he announced his intentions to bring millions of citizens to Washington to “demand the restoration of our Constitutional Republic, Rule of Law, Freedom, Liberty ‘of The People, for The People, by The People’ from overreaching and corrupt federal leadership.”

The press release contained a link for a “Call to Action” in addition to the gathering on May 16, which was a petition directed to the signer’s U.S. representative and two U.S. senators.  Upon clicking the red “Take Action” button, the reader is taken to a petition which reads, in part:

Operation American Spring’s Call To Action – Petition Congress for a Redress of Grievances

3,780 Letters and Emails Sent So Far

It is your right, it is your duty, and the time to take Action is NOW! Your Country needs you and millions of American’s to take a STAND, for our Constitution, for our Liberties and for what is right and just. Your help is urgently needed to petition Congress for a Redress of Grievances as outlined in our Constitution’s First Amendment rights.

CDR Charles F. Kerchner, Jr. (Ret.) signed the petition, which was sent to Rep. Charlie Dent and Pennsylvania Senators Pat Toomey and Robert P. Casey, Jr.

On Monday, CDR Kerchner received the following response from Toomey’s office:

March 24, 2014

Dear Charles,

Thank you for contacting me about the President’s use of his executive powers. I appreciate hearing from you.

The Constitution vests the President with “the executive Power” and with the duty to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed” Presidents rely on these constitutional provisions to issue executive orders and to have agencies promulgate regulations.

With this in mind, I understand your concerns about President Obama’s use of his executive powers instead of working with Congress. Specifically, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced S. 15, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, on February 26, 2013. Among its provisions, this measure would require Congress to approve all regulations proposed by the Executive Branch that have an annual economic impact of $100 million or more. I understand your support for measures that limit regulations and executive orders and value your input. S. 15 is currently pending before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs for review. While I am not a member of this panel, please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as this measure progresses through the legislative process.

Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance.

Sincerely,

Signature

Pat Toomey
U.S. Senator, Pennsylvania

Of the reply, Kerchner told The Post & Email:

Pat Toomey knows all about the issues with Obama as I personally took a copy of my lawsuit against Obama & Congress to his home and gave it to his wife who said she would give it to Pat. This was during the 2010 primary election cycle when Pat Toomey was planning to run for the 2nd time against Arlen Specter who was then a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee. I had previously written to Arlen Specter about Obama’s fraud and never got an answer.  Toomey never answered me back then, either. The reply I got to the OAS petition has virtually nothing to do with the subject of the OAS petition.  Same old tactic by members of Congress.  Either no reply or a reply that does not address the subject of your communication with them or like the one you got the other day … they are not following that issue!  Not following the crimes committed by Obama!  Unbelievable.  Very disgusting that our constitutional republic and representative government has degraded to such a low and despicable level where the oath the elected members of Congress take means nothing to them … just empty words to them.  At least to 98% of them.

  1. What can you expect when we even have a Minnesota Muslim who took his oath with his hand on the Koran (did I mention he a Democrat?).

  2. That is the typical canned response from most (if not all) of our Representatives in Congress – be it from the House or Senate, it’s the same bland non-responsive answer! Try writing Senator Carper about your concerns for gun-control and I’ll bet you’ll get a response back about how his family started the Carper Rifle and not much else in regards to gun control other than “I understand your concerns”

LIP SERVICE! Our Representative government no longer exists!

  3. “Unbelievable”, that is what I used to think too but now it is SOP for our elected representatives and I have grown cynical.

Once these guys and gals get a taste of that Potomac swill they are pretty much useless if you have a problem.
