AND BECAME “THE LAW OF THE LAND”

The Old Testament of the Bible says that God handed the Ten Commandments to Moses on Mt. Sinai to teach to the Israelites

(Oct. 3, 2013) — 1. The teachings of Jesus work, and work well, especially the “Golden Rule.” The “Do until others” should apply equally to wrong-doers; for example, if a person murders someone, then the guilty should be executed by the same method. “Do unto others” also means “Thou Shalt NOT TAILGATE!

2. You don’t need anything more than Jesus, and if you think you do need more, or something else, then you really need him in your life. The most closely-examined life ever lived was Jesus’s time among us: no matter how we may try, we err.   We make mistakes, irrespective of our motives. Some people are more fortunate than others, some mature faster than their peers, and some finally realize that it’s impossible to escape from the consequences of their actions, but no matter where a person fits in the scheme of life, a continuing desire to do better is as a light at the end of a tunnel, and the belief in Jesus is that Light.

3. Don’t swear. Besides doing wrong by taking the Lord’s name in vain, all it does is expose one as deficient in vocabulary skills and deficient in proper religious upbringing, leaving one open to all kinds of vices and wrongdoing, of not leading a righteous life. One reaps what one sows.

4. Treat Sunday as The Lord’s Day. Go to church to meet with other members of your community. Set aside time for contemplation. Say the Lord’s Prayer. Say Grace before each meal.

5. “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God has given you.”

6. You shall not murder, but it is your responsibility to protect yourself and your family by whatever means necessary. The philosophical question, “Do the ends justify the means?” is a question asked by victors, not the vanquished and slain. Don’t be a reactionary responder in the face of danger: seek out your enemies and destroy them before they can lift a finger to harm you, your family and your country, for there are no sidelines in time of conflict: only the living and the dead.

7. You shall not commit adultery, which goes right back to the Golden Rule. Besides, there are so many STD’s (sexually-transmitted diseases), not to mention HIV, going around that one is just playing Russian Roulette by cheating and having multiple partners. The odds are stacked so that it’s just a matter of time before syphilis, gonorrhea and/or herpes infect the guilty, the morally deficient, those with low self-esteem, the wayward and lost souls among us.

8. You shall not steal. Another slant on the reoccurring theme of the Golden Rule. The trouble with government employees, from politicians to the town dog catcher, is the inability to treat public money as their own. Being in debt is not good for a person, a business, or a country.

9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor, or the suspect that the police arrested just to get a conviction to parade around during the next election.

10. You shall not be greedy and covet things that are not yours, a variation of “Thou Shall Not Steal,” which is based upon the original theme of “The Golden Rule: treat others as you yourself would wish to be treated.” Covet not your neighbor’s house, or wife, or husband, or employees, or land, or money, or Freedoms. If you are an Obot, think twice about Obamacare and what the end game is: giving ALL control of your health over to the government, and once you do that, they own your life, which is the opposite of Freedom.

[NOTE: We keep hearing that Obamacare is now the “law of the land.” Well, now, once upon a time, the 18th Constitutional Amendment was the law of the land that brought in prohibition; that is, until it no longer was the “law of the land.”]
