WHY IS THE “ELIGIBILITY” ISSUE SO COMPLICATED…OR IS IT?

And, as for Texas Senator Ted Cruz’s eligibility or lack thereof to run for the presidency, Levin recent bloveated “The way I interpret it is his mother is an American citizen, so he’s an American citizen.” Note that Levin’s conclusion ignores the fact that Cruz was born in a foreign country (Canada) and that Cruz’s father at the time was a citizen of Cuba.
Furthermore, Lawyer Levin said, “The issue isn’t what the Constitution says in that regard. The issue is how do we interpret that?” and “That’s not a constitutional issue. It’s an interpretive issue!”
Well, then, Mr. Levin, how do you explain the fact that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas remarked in April 2010 that the high court was “evading” the eligibility issue?
My guess is that the Supreme Court realizes the issue is not one needing much, if any, “interpretation.” A natural born American citizen is exactly what the words imply it is. So, to avoid a constitutional crisis (as if we didn’t already have one!) and the embarrassment of having to make a ruling that would find Barack Hussein Obama to be a usurper of the presidency and treasoner (Obama’s alleged biological father was a British/Kenyan citizen), the high court has chosen to dodge the issue entirely. And, don’t forget, Chief Justice John Roberts has reportedly been threatened.
Unfortunately for America, the inaction of the U.S. Supreme Court has given rise to all manner of misunderstandings (whether real or feigned), obfuscation, and dissension in our country. Just look at Mark Levin! What an obfuscator! You might even say a liar! It now seems anybody can make a case for running for president – even an undocumented, foreign-born, communist-mentored, Marxist-Maoist Muslim, repeat-criminal, Arab-American!
All Lawyer Levin and people such as foreign-born Senator Ted Cruz are doing is ceding legitimacy to, and providing cover for, Barack Hussein Obama, the most dangerous and treasonous threat ever in history to our democratic republic. Shame on all of you!
Well, the Democraps don’t care about the rule of law, they will circumvent any law to get what they want. Now the Repukes are doing the same. Oh yea, I forgot two wrongs make it right ! After all, if they did it and got away with it then we should too, but don’t ever admit it, just keep on lying !
You are right, Tom. I heard Levin say this the other night and I was totally shocked and very angry. Levin is supposed to be extremely knowledgeable regarding the Constitution. I like the way he explains gov newly-passed laws and what they mean in regard to our Constitution, but he is totally wrong on this issue. I don’t understand why he commented on this at all. At best he should say nothing but never, ever uphold this untruth.
We have been taught for 250 years that a natural born citizen is of soil and birth meaning born in the USA to two citizen parents who were also born in the USA. Our founders understood it would take a generation at least to make this so and exempted themselves from becoming eligible because they themselves were immigrants and not eligible. Geez. PPL are so ignorant. Maybe we need to print banners and hang them across every town in America and explain this fact.
I am totally disgusted.
All of the so-called conservative voices have done is trampled on the Constitution along with the treasonous oath breakers in office. Levin, Hannity, Beck, Limbaugh, Greta, Huckabee, etc. are lovers of money more than they love America.
None of whom can hold a candle to a real America Lt.Col.Lakin. Integrity matters. Silence on barry soetero crimes is so loud it reveals shattered character in TV land.
