Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to my Friends!

This will probably be a different Christmas newsletter than you may be used to reading.  Oh, I could tell you the usual stuff about having sold my home out in Falcon, currently living in the Springs, searching for a new home to buy, getting a new puppy, etc.  All that is true and relevant, but overshadowing the mundane and profane issues of life is the sense that spiritual forces have stepped up their pace, and life as we have known and cherished may never be the same again.

That foreboding sense actually hit me about 10 months ago when, after the countless efforts (lawsuits, phone calls, emails, letters to Congressmen, judges, sheriffs, et al) by many, many people to expose the truth about who Barack Obama really is came to naught.  Did it matter that he has been using the SSAN of a Connecticut man long-deceased, or that his Selective Service Registration is patently fraudulent, as is his birth certificate?  Did it matter that Obama has hidden his college records  and other documentation from us?  No, apparently not.  All efforts to vet him have failed.  Truth, integrity, and honesty were the first (but not the last) casualties of the Obama Regime.  More will follow.  For sure, Obama did not start us down the wrong road, but there can be no doubt that he and his regime have accelerated the speed of our demise.  I do not see this country healing from the wounds inflicted by the last four years and which will continue on into the future.

But worse than the lies and deception about Barack Obama is the blasphemy perpetrated by his  acolytes.  When a man allows himself to be worshiped and adored like a deity, there is something very deadly and dark in him.  Have you not also read about it and cringed at such blasphemy, friends?  It makes me want to hide my head in shame and despair for the depths to which we have fallen.  May God have mercy on us!  We cry out for God to bless us, but we do not bless God!   The bad news is that we who do bless God in our daily lives will be swept up in the consequences of the ungodly.  The good news is that God will see us through it and will never leave or forsake us.

The darkness that hovers over this country extends over the whole world.  It marches inexorably onward to consume or obliterate what it can, while it can.  There are many names for this evil, but at its core it bears the spirit of the antichrist and it will usher him onto the world platform as the presumed savior of mankind.  Evil, being duplicitous and whose goal it is to kill and destroy, will find the uninformed easy prey.  Those who have not sought the True and Living God will chase after a god created in their own image.  Many will be deceived and will suffer the consequences of that deception.

All that being said, we can never forget Who is in control even as the push for mankind’s enslavement marches on.  No light ever shines so brightly as when it is juxtaposed with, and consumes, darkness.  I John, Chapter One, tells us that Jesus is the light and life of men.  He came into this world for the purpose of setting mankind free from the slavery of sin and death and He accomplished His purpose.   But for now, we have to abide and watch as events unfold around us on the political, social, and economic fronts until the accomplishment of all things prophesied.

There are many things we can do to prepare for future events that may bring suffering in one way or another.  We can determine to put aside the weight that so easily entangles us: our own sins, shortcomings, and failures.  And we can ask God to give us divine encounters with seeking souls so that we may be entrusted to give them embers of light from our own fire.  We know God is not willing that any should perish.  What a privilege and joy to consider how He might use us to touch a perishing soul.

The consolation and hope that sustains me, as I’m sure sustains many of you, is that God is still in control and He doesn’t ever get surprised by the machinations, arrogance and hubris of His creation.   Ever since the seduction and fall of mankind at the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, man has consistently lusted for power, to be “like God”.  Solomon had it right:  there is nothing new under the sun, just new variances of an old theme.  But let there be no doubt: there is an end to evil.  Praise God!

As you can tell, I’m not into the usual platitudes about Christmas!   Actually, it would be more appropriate, in my mind, to celebrate the birth of Christ in September during Sukkot, the Festival of Booths.  When Jesus entered this world, He “tabernacled” among us by clothing Himself in humanity.  What a profound thought; my heart and mind quake at the mere thought of the Love behind Jesus Christ’s birth!  A love of the highest, purest kind and truly beyond and outside of human comprehension.  When I light my candle on Christmas Eve and disperse the darkness, my heart will leap like it always does with the hope of redemption foreshadowed in His miraculous birth  Thank You, Jesus, for all of eternity, Thank You!

So, Merry Christmas friends, and keep looking up, for our redemption draweth nigh.  Maranatha!

Love to all,

Kathy Gotto
