(Aug. 31, 2012) — [Editor’s Note:  The following letter from Todd Sweet is reproduced as it was received in typewritten form, including any typographical errors, to retain the original intent and style of the writer.  In his article, Sweet refers to Judy Walton’s coverage of the alleged prosecutorial misconduct in the Tenth Judicial District of Tennessee.  One of the incidents Walton mentioned is the murder accusation against John Edward Dawson which was dismissed by the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals after it was discovered that the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) had had Sweet pose as a lawyer to elicit a confession from Dawson while they were both inmates at the Monroe County jail.

Sweet is now an inmate at the Turney Center Industrial Complex in Only, TN, having been convicted of “criminal simulation x2.”  On June 29, 2012 he filed a post-conviction petition with the Monroe County court and wrote a follow-up letter published here on August 26.

In an article dated February 5, 2012, Sweet wrote of the corruption in Monroe County, “If you pray it, God will root out the evil.”  The Chattanooga Times Free Press began reporting on Tenth Judicial District malfeasance on August 12.]

It is not my desire to flip out or point fingers at media personalities and others that seem to think they are informed, when they know nothing.

You know absolutely zero about the John Dawson case or what led up to it.  You instead tried your best to paint a bad picture of me to cause me harm.  Good luck.

I am letting the readership of the Post & Email know that had I not given Jeanne Wiggins, Dawsons attorney the information about the illegalities that Detectives were trying to accomplish with Mr. Dawson, he would be cuffed and stuffed as we speak.

Walton paints a “snitch” picture of me when in reality the Monroe County Officials were threatening me and trying to get me to con Dawson into a confession to a crime he did not commit.  I went as far as to inform my attorney that the officials were trying to get me to solve their homicide mess up.  Unbelievable taking into consideration that those same officials (Stutts, Bivens, Ross, Bebb, Rush, Reedy and many MCSD officers) were claiming to the entire town that I was the con man of the century.  They needed a “con-man” to con someone into a false confession.  Ironic don’t you think?  Or disgusting?

When I grew sick of the harrassment and illegalities, I flipped the scipt on the lawmakers and enforcers.  I informed my attorney of my desire to stop those officials.  He refused.  Ross knew he was acting illegally by allowing the DA’s office to prosecute me and force me to back their lies.  Conflict of interest.

No one cared, so I, me, yours truly, brought the issue to the knowledge of Mr. Dawson and his wife Katrina Bivens-Dawson.  I listed the issue in a Motion of which was then hidden by Martha Cook, then later found and ignored by Ross in open court.  This issue of cops acting like attorney’s was brought to light by me and me only.  I took it upon myself to do the right thing from the very beginning.  I informed Dawsons attorney’s.  Jeanne Wiggins being one.  Later his other attorney’s flew out to Arizona to get the information to help Dawson, not “snitch” on him.  So Judy Walton – your efforts to put a lable on me to get me hurt are to no avail.  Not on your best and my worst day can anyone break down the protective wall that God threw up around me the day I prayed 1 Kings 5:4:

“But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor misfortune.”

There is a lot that is yet unknown and will eventually come out as my Novel and case unfolds.  My point is that for a reporter to try to paint me as a rat and get me labled…frankly, you may want to think of retirement if you cannot do a truthful and completely informed job in your writings.  I on the other hand will continue to report the truth.  I will also be certain that I know what it is I am talking about to its fullest before I write it.

Though you may have had good intentions at the onset of your articles, I believe your timing was planned and your knowledge is not more than what has been reported by others in the Dawson case.  You all want for absolute full story as it unfolded?  Remember, I and only I have that truth.  Unless of course you wish to listen to Bebb and the rest of the corrupt.  I spilled only on the law makers and enforcers.

Because they are to obey laws remember?  Oh wait, they don’t have to do that in Monroe County.

Nuff” said.

No, wait.  To all the officers at the Monroe County jail that did their job.  They felt something going on with illegality of their superiors when I was at the jail but wisely didn’t get involved.  That is why you were not dragged into court during my Motion for New Trial.  It is why you wont be dragged back into court in the comeing months.  Because although undoubtedly people do not like you, staff and inmates alike, you still, (in my book) did and do your jobs.  You know who you are, if you werent subpenoed, I am talking about you.  Unless of course you were and told the truth, not fearing the corrupt.  Again, thank you ladies and gentlemen of MCSD that stayed out of it and treated me with respect.  When I go free, I have a well paying job for you.  This time I wont be on the run and manipulating people.  Come see me.  I will be out sooner than was ever expected.  For the Lord my God gives exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ask or think.  Amen.

I never ever want oficers, lawmakers and enforcers who do their jobs and believe in the Constitution and God to be confused with those who do not.  Reporters as well.  In this County it has become custom for even our children to shy from the police.  That is sad.  We should be able to teach our children and young adults to run to the police when they are in need of aid.  Not anymore in this Country.  You never know how they will twist it to meet their own ends.  Youngsters, know that there are excellent Officers out there who do care about your safety.  Adults, please know the same.  If anyone out there feels threatened, abused, at danger for any reason no matter how small you may think your problem is, run to the cops.  Go now.  They do care.  That includes the cops in Monroe County.  The good outnumber the bad.  Trust me, I should know.

Just don’t talk to media people that dont report facts and dont care who they hurt in reporting them.  Or that work against factual truths.  There are many.  Stay clear.

Those media tyrants also know who they are…they engage in media mayhem.

P.S. Doesn’t anyone remember the photos of Dawson holding the voice recorders inside the jail that I had Sharon publish in a prior article?  How do you all think he got them?  I handed them to him so that his wife could take cell photos on visit as proof.  Just like I gave Dawson and his Attorney’s the letters typed and forged by Pat Henry.  Not the actions of a “snitch”.  Not that I really care about what others think of me, for I am comfortable in my own skin and know who I am, I just do not like being labled in an attempt to hurt me.  Think the next time you write Mrs. Walton, contrary to your personal opinions, I am human as well. – tjs
