HAS AMERICA’S LIGHT BEEN EXTINGUISHED?

by One Pissed-off Vietnam Vet, ©2012, Presidential Candidate

The Russian newspaper "Pravda" was founded in 1908 and supported the Bolsheviks' desire for a communist government. It exists today as possibly a freer press than that found in the U.S.

(Apr. 12, 2012) — My ancestors welcomed the first Pilgrims to our shores, maybe with a hardy “How!” but then again, maybe with an arrow aimed for the heart. I don’t know, I wasn’t there, and the stories that have traveled through time don’t say what so-and-so did on such-and-such an occasion. To make a long story short, America became the only piece of land where someone could start over and get a fair deal in the bargain: “yearning to breathe free.”  And we’re not talking about taking a deep breath: it’s about freedom of choice.

There was a time when America was a refuge, a zone on the planet set aside for safety. For instance, getting back to the Pilgrims, maybe the Church of England wasn’t your cup of tea, or maybe you’re Italian and you don’t agree with the Pope, or Catholicism, but by staying you’re living a lie, while at the same time being in danger. Look what happened to Galileo: he said he saw craters on the moon with his telescope. Well, here’s a news flash: I can see craters on the moon without a telescope, and so can the rest of humanity, but Galileo was forced to recant and spent his remaining days in house arrest. Had the USA been in existence then, what do you think the chances are that Galileo would have immigrated?

Those days are, vehemently unfortunately, gone by the wayside of ignorance and plain stupidity. I’ll give you an example. Let’s say that I’m to have a debate about Hawking radiation, and the person who I’m debating is convinced that the moon is made of Swiss cheese. That, my friend, is just as ridiculous as debating one of those New Black Panthers (who intimidated voters in 2008) about the Constitution, or our Attorney General, Eric Holder and the head of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, about illegal immigration or, for that matter, the definition of “illegal.”

It’s not “politics as usual;” far from it. Imagine you were born into a world of Islam, and you wanted out. Well, you certainly couldn’t just walk away; you’d be forced to flee to a place where you wouldn’t have to be on guard constantly, a place where there were no Muslims, a place where Sharia Law was an impossibility. America would have been one of the countries on your list, but no more.

Ever wonder why Muslims fear the words “Democracy” and “Freedom?” It’s because exposure to a liberal education would open the doors to the possibility of realizing that a person can live his life without fear, and certainly without hate: “kill the Jews and Christians.”  I’ve talked to a number of converts and the overwhelming consensus is that, after reading the New Testament, they had no idea that it was possible to live in a world without fear and without hate, that trying to follow in the footsteps of Jesus was an admirable goal.

Take a long look at the Statue of Liberty, because if Sharia Law ever takes hold in America, it’ll be destroyed as were the ancient Buddhist statues in Afghanistan is 2001.

Not only has the rest of the world lost the one country where bullies couldn’t intimidate, but America is quickly becoming a land to avoid, where our “freedom of the press” ranks number 47 in the world.  In other words, there are 46 countries where there is more truth in the news than in our own country. We no longer have “Freedom of the Press.”  All we are left with is White House propaganda, lie after lie, day after day. Why, by reading Pravda you get more facts about America than our own mainstream media.

Stay tuned. Stay informed. Be aware of the Truth on July 4th.
